FEEDBACKS - PART 1
May 29, 2006
"WOW....Needed the
kleenex for that one! Beautiful!"
"I received this on
Memorial Day and I must say, POWERFUL. As a 77 year old veteran of the
Korean Conflict it made me cry, reliving my youth with my children."
"I received this from
a friend and it was the most beautiful e-mail I have ever received. I
cried during the whole thing thinking of my parents. Also made me
think of myself since I am at that age now, and my feelings are
expressed in this."
"Almost ALL True.
Very touching. Oh, they do need to be told to eat?"
"I just received this
beautiful poem. How true it is. After taking care of my mother
all my life and her recent death, no truer words are spoken.
Every child should read this and I have forwarded it on to my
children. It's just too bad that all children don't see this side of
life and when the parents are no longer here, they will
understand it all the more. But I had to take care of my mother during
all these times and when she would apologize for being a nuisance I
would say "'You did it for me'- so thank you."
"I just wanted to let
you know that this slideshow is the most amazing show I have ever
viewed on the web! My husband and I became parents for the first time
on February 9, 2005. I always would watch shows and read emails on the
web about parenting and growing old, and they never had an impact on
me the way they should have because I was not yet a parent. But now
being a parent, all I have to say is WOW! This one in particular, has
really touched me. Not only because I am now a parent, but because it
is so poignant and true! I must admit, I had to get the tissues out
and when I forwarded it to friends and family, I warned them to get
the box of tissues ready! What an amazing job you have done! I can't
wait to show this to my son when he is older. I hope this page will
still be around then! Job well done!"
"I remember I
received it in its original form but today, I would like to
congratulate you for coming up with a fresh medium that showed you and
your group's creativity and ingenuity. I am also proud that you are a
Filipino, too. In our culture, we still respect our parents and it is
a privilege to really care for one's aging and sick parents. This
presentation also reminds us about the many Overseas Filipino Workers
who are nurses and staff of the many nursing homes, who even if they
are forced to work, accept and care for their wards; are genuinely
caring themselves because they are reminded about their capacity to
LOVE. TO LOVE THEIR PARENTS AND THEIR FAMILY who are the reasons why
they also chose to be away and work away from their loved ones. This
presentation must be a reminder for all of us children and parents
that very soon, we will become parents and grandparents ourselves. We
should be reminded of how they care for us so we may also be able to
care for them. Thank you very much for being the BEST representative
of all the children in our country and of the world that - we must
love our parents!"
"What a powerful
message of love that touched me deeply and reduced me to tears
everytime I watched it. I shed tears for the truth that Parent's Wish
evoked and the way in which I truly feel about my now speechless and
invalid grandparents. I still see love in their eyes everytime I rub
my cheeks against theirs to say how much I love them for everything
they were to me. Thank you for putting music and words to something we
all experience so painfully and poignantly through the years. It’s the
cycle of life!"
"Your slideshow was
so touching ... thank you...."
"This is such a
beautiful piece of art. I, too, had been taking care of my Aunt who
just recently passed away. Every word that is said is true about our
elders. She wanted to die a year ago, but God kept her here until her
time. She went very peacefully as I was with her at the time of
passing. It was a touching experience, I will miss her dearly. We love
you Aunt M."
May 28, 2006
"There are no words
to describe how it touched my heart. I forwarded to everyone I know.
Thank you so much for sharing."
"I’m a true believer
that things happen in your life for a reason. There is a reason why I
am getting this now, there is a reason why I did not receive this any
other time. Right now I am helping my mom and supporting my mom as we
do what is necessary to move her mother into a hospice situation. I
have mentioned to my mom that visits with grandma are different every
time now, because she doesn’t remember any more. We will do the
remembering for her, in our hearts. This was interesting… thank you
for sharing."
"I cried! Need I say
more?"
"I bought the music
when it first came out. The pictures with it was beautiful. I had
tears in my eyes. I don't see my children very often since they live
in the Middle East."
"Thank you so much
for this beautiful tribute. I appreciate it so much and have sent it
to many friends and relatives."
"I cried throughout
the entire piece. I lost my father and my son within a week of each
other two years ago, and my mom passed away long before that. Now that
I am getting older, I pray my two daughters will have the patience,
tolerance and love described in this piece. Thank you."
"I just viewed this.
It was absolutely awesome. I work in a nursing home and it really
touched a lot of the way our older people feel. Do you have any idea
as to when this CD will be out? Thanks so much for sharing."
[Webmaster's reply: We have no definite timetable yet for the
CD's release as there are copyright issues that we are still trying to
work out.]
"We have no children
of our own but as the fortunate daughter of an 86 year old parent....
my deepest wish is that I live these words with them every day. I hope
every child no matter what their age will always have the deepest
respect for the dignity of their parents and all those they encounter
who are elderly. Someday, the mirror will remind us when our time has
come and we can only hope that a hand will be extended to us to take
us 'gently into the night.' Thanks for the inspiration to keep on
keeping on."
"Wonderful idea;
appropriate music and touching photography. Unfortunately, the text
let you down, as it is, quite simply, trite. The analogy of comparing
old age to childhood is obviously a good one, but you completely wore
it out. Too bad, as the subject deserves the very best, and you had it
for two out of three!"
"This should be
required viewing for all parents and children of parents yearly! If it
doesn't touch you then you have no feelings!"
"Thank you from the
bottom of my heart for the wonderful work. Those words rang so true to
my heart. My sister and I have been on that journey with our parents.
When I read your web page it brought tears to my eyes. The memories
were bitter sweet. But it reminded me how lucky we were to have been
there for them in their time of need? (My sister more then I) due to
distance. Thank you bringing the need for the tender care of our
elderly. They were there for us and now we need to return the favor.
Thank you. PS, I still to this day miss you Mom and Dad. You were the
best parents a girl could have asked for. I know you are there with
him."
"I have never been
touched so much by anything of this kind until now. My mother is in
her 80s and she is going through this part of her life and there
are so many family members who don't realize it. But for the few of us
who do and for the ones who can relate to this, God bless you all and
it is all in God's hands. So be patient and let Him lead the way.
Mary."
"Too beautiful for
word to explain. This is a message everyone should take to heart. My
children and their children will have the chance to read this touching
poem."
"What an inspiring
slide show!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I work in a home health care and a CD would
be great to share with our staff and clients. Please definitely notify
me when a CD becomes available."
"I work in a skilled
care nursing home and I see a lot of lonely people everyday. I try to
kiss and hug as many of them as I can everyday. Sometimes the sadness
can be overbearing. I would like to have a CD of this and play it at
one of our employee meetings. Maybe this can help the ones that don't
see the loneliness in the residents eyes."
"It was so beautiful
and so true. I cried through the whole movie. Very well done!"
May 27, 2006
and earlier feedbacks:
"My entire family are
currently having a very hard time with my father. I admit being angry
at him basically for being old, growing old and forcing some of us to
make important decisions about him and ourselves. This brings me
around to a basic background; to uncloud my thoughts and to help with
the things that need to be done, but be done with love first, not the
anger and frustrations that were paramount. Thanks."
"This was so very
moving; such an important email for all of us who are caregivers. My
elderly mother asked me the same question three times this morning;
from now on, I will try to think of it as having been just the first
time! Forgetfulness is just a part of getting older. My parents took
very good care of me all my life, and I am trying to do the same for
them. I lost my father 7 yrs ago, and mom (now blind) carries his
picture with her through the house and talks to him. They were married
57 years. I have wonderful children who have stepped up to the plate
and help with their grandma. I guess that's what life is all about."
"I recently lost my
mom and my niece sent me the Parent's Wish and it touched me so much
that we played it at her service. I only wish I had it a few years
earlier as mom passed away at 86 yrs of age. I am only 44 and kept
trying to get her to do things that her body did not want to do
anymore. I was so insistent she keep up with her walking and was
always after her to shower and eat more. I did it all for my love for
her but was bossy in my requests. I have passed this on to many of my
friends whose parents will soon be in the same situation."
"I have been helping
my father eat, dress, walk, and communicate for over three years now.
And, although it is hard sometimes, and frustrating for me, my
husband, and my dad, we have enjoyed the chance to share a house and
intimate moments of perhaps silent, but profound love. Amen."
"So very, very, very
well done!! Thank you for sharing!!!"
"OH please let me
know when you have this in CD. This is wonderful. I am disable and in
my mid 60's and my mother is doing well in her mid 80's and I would
love to give her a copy. Thank you for them most beautiful web page I
have ever seen."
"I just read the
Parent's Wish, and I do believe that this should come with a warning
to make sure that you have a large box of tissues close by. My Mother
just turned 89 last month and even though she still lives by herself
she now does have to use a walker to get around, but that is okay with
us. Yes I do realize that the roles have reversed over the last
couple of years and I do not have a problem with that. I am blessed to
have a Mother like I have and even though my Father passed away
several years ago. I guess you can tell that I love my Mother
very much and will miss her tremendously when she is gone, but the
memories that I will have and the love that she gave us will live on
in my heart and mind forever. Thank you for this, but it certainly
does make you realize how wonderful most parents are and I am so glad
that I was blessed with the Father that I had and the Mother that I
still have."
"My precious mother
sent this to me today and I have played it three times back to back..
wiping tears the entire time... I don't know that I have ever received
anything before in any place or time that moved me like this did. To
you mother..... I am honored to have been blessed in being born as
your daughter. Eternal Love, Cheryl"
"This is a beautiful
and meaningful website, especially to an 80 year old man."
"I wish everybody in
the world could see this slide show, read the words and listen to the
beautiful music. My heart feels broken when I remember my parents and
how they took care of us. There are so many times I wish they were
still here but I know they are with our Lord and someday we'll be
together again. Your slide show would please them. Thank you, thank
you, thank you."
"I don't even know
where to begin my feelings over this wonderful email! My mom and
mother-in-law were both in the situation of dementia. I cried then and
now again. I always felt the way that this email portrays- they took
loving care of us when we were unable to care for ourselves, so now it
is our turn to take care of them. Thank God we had loving parents to
show us the way, and I whole heartily believe that our children will
be there for us, since we instilled in them the same love instilled in
us by our parents. I can not wait to send this on to my friends and
other family members. Thank you for this moving email."
"Parent's Wish was
beautiful. It brought on lots of tears and made me think of my much
loved grandmother. Thank you for sharing it with us."
"Thank You for such a
powerful piece. I cried as I watched the slideshow because I am
getting older, but knowing my daughter ,I know she will grant me this
Parent's Wish. Let's hope all children will grant this wish to
their parent. Maybe this will make them think. Thank you again, this
is sooooooooooo powerful. I loved it."
"This was so
wonderful. I was so touched by this a Parent's Wish. I can not think
of any parent that does not wish for their children to treat them with
respect and tolerance as they get older. Thank you for such a powerful
piece."
"This is beautiful -
It couldn't be said any better. I would love to copy this on a CD to
keep for my kids. I never have the words and this is perfect..... Love
it!!!"
"WOW, what a
slideshow!!! It made me cry. I am 68 years old and I would love to
have copies of this on a CD to send to my children. Thank You for this
show."
"Your slide show was
so poignant and touched me deeply, as my precious Mother died last
November after a diagnosis of Alzheimer's 5 years previously. I had to
remind myself occasionally over the last few years to be patient and
not get angry with her, as she went through the various stages, and it
would get frustrating. At one point she thanked me for all I did for
her, and my reply could ONLY be that I was doing for her as she'd done
for me when I was a child. It was logical. I knew she wouldn't have
put any of us through that dread disease through choice. She was a
wonderful loving Mother, and a living Christian example, to her
children, and we all loved her dearly and miss her. I intend to share
this slide show with just about every one I know, including our sons
and their families. Thank you sincerely."
"Wonderful!
Absolutely beautiful!"
"What beautiful
thoughts, exactly how I felt when I had to take care of my dad when he
was in a coma."
"While I can
appreciate the sentiment that we should do and care for our elders.
This is certainly true whether they are our parents or simply our
neighbor. The message given in Parent's Wish is one of you do for me
because I did for you. That is conditional love, not unconditional. I
hope my parents didn't help me to walk, didn't feed me etc just so
that one day I would take care of them. Of course I will but not
because they did for me. I care for them out of unconditional love, as
I hope they did for me. Also, it states that we simply survive the
elder years but do not 'live' them. Says who? Not all elderly have
meaningless lives, just waiting to die. If as an elder we are involved
in helping those around us or if not physically able, simply pray for
others than our life has great meaning can be fulfilling! Quite a bit
of what was written in Parent's Wish seems to be written from a very
selfish and inward prospective seeking to place a burden of guilt on a
child. Shame. We should all love one another and do unto others as we
would want it to be done unto us but not out of guilt.... but from
real love. Hope you have the courage to post this viewpoint on your
site. Others probably see it as I do."
[Webmaster's
reply: If your parents ask for a little understanding and
patience on your part during their old age, it does not mean that they
will love you less if you don't. The message given in Parent's Wish is
one of you do for me because I NEED IT. Also, the slideshow does not
say that elderly people lives meaningless lives. When he wrote: '..our
age is not lived but survived., the author is referring about the
hardships and difficulties that come with old age.]
"What a ministry you
have started! My generation will someday BE the Mom and Dad making the
Parent's Wish of your video. A little perspective goes a long way
towards maintaining the value of human life. Thank you for speaking to
hearts of many ages."
"Parent's Wish is
just about the most beautiful email I have ever received. Thanks."
"This the most
beautiful thing I have ever seen. I only wish I could have read this 3
years ago before my mom died. Because now I know some many things that
use to get me annoyed, really didn't make any difference at all. I
love you Mom."
"What an incredible
gift this is. I am primary caretaker for my parents- both 88 years old
and failing in different ways. This speaks to my spirit and soul. The
best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even
touched. They must be felt with the heart. May kindness return to you
in the same beautiful way that it was given."
"I am a Registered
Nurse at an LTC facility. I teach all the new staff as well as having
my mother in the facility. I just taught a class of CNA's and showed
this to them as well as other staff. There was not a dry eye in my
classroom and it was the males as well as the females that were
affected. It really puts things into prospective. Thank-you for
putting words and music together to make such an impact."
"Oh, my goodness. I
can hardly see to type this right now. This was truly inspired by
someone that knows God. I am going through this right now with my own
Mother. She is 82 years old. And has to live with my older sister who
gets very upset with her at times. My Mom has a hard time hearing even
with her hearing aide. Doesn't always want to eat and do the things
which are good for her. But, she still has a smile and a good word for
us because that's how she is. This has brought back so many memories
of raising up my children also and of how things might turn out that
way for myself. I only hope and pray that my kids will be as gracious
to me at that age as I'm trying to be with my Mom that I love so much.
Thank you for sharing this wonderful story with all of us."
"This is simply one
of the best emails I have ever received and I am forwarding it to my
family."
"Its amazing. I can't
find words to express my emotions. But in a matter of few seconds I
could picture how many times I have been harsh with them and being a
Muslim daughter I feel ashamed of myself. But I pray for them and now
will never be able to feel ashamed anymore as the pictorial message
leaves it's impression in mind."
"Wow! this is a great
piece of work. I work on the Senior LinkAge line and deal with seniors
on a daily basis. I had much more patience today for all my callers.
It brings a tear to my eye everytime but also touches deep in the
heart."
"My father forwarded
me Parent's Wish, he did so in his own way of telling me that I needed
to remember everything he did for me as a child. I have recently taken
a job working 60 hours a week, trying to raise our 6 children and my
husband's own health problems and now my father's growing health
issues. I have grown very impatient by trying to balance all of this,
primarily with the 70 mile trip one way to help my father. Parent's
Wish, has made me stop and reflect. Thank you. You have given me a
gift unachievable in any other way."
"This really hit home
after just losing my own father less than a month ago. It made me cry
to think of my dear sons having to take care of their Dad and I
someday. We don't want to be a burden, but we know they will take care
of us with the same love we took care of them while we were raising
them. Thanks for the message."
"What a beautiful
tribute to our parents! What an awesome responsibility it reminds me
of as my parents age. Thank you so much for the effort you have put
into this wonderful presentation."
"I just lost my
mother recently and I can not begin to express the numerous emotions I
felt while listening to Parent's Wish. It was so powerful. I can not
begin to count the times I have played and replayed the song."
"You were able to put
into words and music what most of us feel in our hearts and can not
say. Thank you so much."
"This was the most
touching E-mail and slideshow that I ever received. I can relate to
every sentence in this slideshow especially about the verse 'when I
do not want to live anymore' because that is what my elderly
father told me a few weeks before he died. My mother had severe
dementia and at times did not know who I was. That was very difficult.
She died in a nursing home at 90 years of age. I had been their
primary caregiver for 10 years and know from experience what the needs
of elderly parents are. I cried when I watch this slideshow as it
brought back memories of what both my parents and I went through.
Whoever wrote those words surely had to have been a caregiver to the
elderly because every sentence fits perfectly. It is a godsend."
"It has been the most
touching e-mail that anybody has sent me. Thank you very much from the
bottom of my heart."
"What a touching and
beautiful program. I've watched it twice and cried through the entire
song each time. It says what everyone wants their children to know and
what everyone needs to be reminded of concerning their elderly
parents. Thank you so much."
"I suggest that you
get your kleenex out before watching. Of course the song by Josh
Groban only adds a level of importance and emotionalism to this
beautiful reading."
"Thank you so much
for this. Six months ago I was lucky enough to be able to quit my job
to be a full-time caretaker for my 90 year-old mother. It is the best
job I've ever had except for raising my children."
"Thanks for the very
beautiful slideshow with beautiful words. How I wish that my father is
still alive. He died when I was only 19 and at that age age knows
nothing at that time except thinking how to survive."
"This is awesome and
sooo true."
"Just too beautiful
for words. Thank you all."
"Very nice and
touching. I lost my father 8 months ago and I was teary eyed as I was
watching the show. Thank You Very Much."
"I want you to know
how much this hit home for me. I just recently lost both of my
parents. My mother to Leukemia and my father to Diabetes, heart attack
and strokes. I really miss them both and this was like they were
talking to me personally. I will send this site to all who have made
comments regarding their parents and how they are driving them crazy.
One day they will look back and wish they had them as I wish I could
have mine back."
"Powerful and
truthful!"
"As I sat with tears
running down my face, I think of my mother whom I loved so dearly, I
could do these things with her because that was the way she raised to
regard the lives of older people and to respect what they lived
through. I can only hope that my children will feel the same way. I am
70 now had some health issues that I survived through and hope and
pray that when I become a real senior citizen someone will realize
that I'm normal and still love me and never yell at me. I love Josh Groban and this was beautiful, thank you."
"This is very nice
and brings back a lot of memories. Can bring tears to your eyes."
"I cried when I read/played this. I'm still crying. My Dad died last year after 1.6 years
of fighting cancer at the age of 84."
"This is the nicest
email I have ever received. The sentiments expressed are so true. I
wish every child in the world could read this, it may just change the
way they think and behave. Maybe they would learn to respect their
elders and feel the love for their parents and their fellow man. Thank
you for making my day."
"I was really touched
by the video...anybody must watch this one...this is for us to
understand that our parents, in any way they can, love us...we must
thank them for all the things they gave us...i can't make this
long...but I know that you will understand my main point."
"I'm so glad you
brought back the Parent's Wish slide show. I have shared it with many
of my email friends... we think it is absolutely beautiful!"
"My mother was
diagnosed December 2005 with Early Alzheimer’s with Dementia. Within a
short time I have watched her memory, personality and quality of life
decrease. She feels hopeless and is loosing her identity. I cried as I
watched the slides and laughed as they reminded me of similar stories
my sisters and I share when supporting mom with her daily activities.
Watching this will help us the children remember to treat our parents
with dignity, respect and love just as they gave us. I love my mother
and I have told my siblings I will quit my job as a social worker
before I let her be placed in a nursing home. I feel I owe her that
much. She tells me weekly that she wishes she would die. This is hard
for me to accept because we still need her. She has six children, 37
children and 18 grandchildren, unfortunately my father passed 18 years
ago and she still grieves for him. He was her true love. Thanks for
helping me through a tough day. I was working late preparing for a
State audit when I received this email. I stopped work and called my
mother immediately even though we had spoken three times already that
day."
"My mother has
Alzheimer’s and this touched me in what I am currently experiencing
with her and the changes in her life." .
"Absolutely
Awesome!!! This is where I am in my life now - I have become the
parent and I cherish every moment I have with my sweet mama. I know
how to be a good parent because I had the best!"
"While the overall
'feel' of the slideshow was a feel-good reminder of how we wish to be
treated in our old age, and how we should treat our aging parents, the
underlying message was impossible to miss for those able to get past
the emotion. 'It's ok to assist your parents or allow your parents
to choose a 'dignified death'. That message came through in
numerous slides. I would encourage people to appreciate the message of
caring and love, but not be blind to the underlying message of this
slideshow."
[Webmaster's
reply: I don't think that was the underlying message of the
slideshow. The phrase: 'And when someday we say to you that we do
not want to live any more. That we want to die. Do not get angry. Some
day you will understand.' should not be interpreted as a cry for
assisted suicide. There is a big difference between a person who says
"I want to die now" and someone who says "Please help me
die!". The former is hoping that his "natural death"
will come sooner rather than later; the latter is asking for someone
to put an end to his life.]
"It says more than
anyone can imagine. My father died one year ago from Alzheimer's and
the poem says everything that a family needs to know about taking care
of somebody with that and other cruel diseases. The song that is
playing by Josh Groban is the same song my mother chose to play at his
memorial service. My husband and myself are and were big fans of Josh
Groban, so when my husband died 3 years ago from complications from
diabetes his music was a great comfort to myself and other family
members. If I had read your poem several years earlier it would have
been a great comfort for the empty feeling and great loss you feel
when you loose somebody you love very much. Thank you for providing
this comfort to everybody that reads it."
"This video is well
done and touched my heart and soul deeply. It is so true and everyone
needs to be reminded about the cycle of life. I shared it with our
four children and many others. Thank you for this video with a
sensitive nature."
"Thank you to
everyone who put this together. It is a necessary reminder to many
people in the world today. Please let me know when this becomes
available on CD."
"I think the slide
show is important and full of wisdom and can be healing to the psyche
of many in our culture of indifference. We are more sophisticated but
somehow insensitive and dumber to human needs. That is just my two
cents on the topic. I am happy to see 'Parent's Wish' back,
yet, I prefer the original version immensely. I hope you find a
corporate sponsor. TIAA Kreff might be willing. This really is for the
public good."
"Thank you for this
incredible movie and song. I would have liked to be able to send
this to my son, but unfortunately he does not have a father so I was
unable to send it on to him. BUT I did share it with many others."
"I sit here crying
like a baby knowing my 23 year old son has gone before me. I found him
and his neck was broken in a car wreck. Five days later my husband
died from a heart attack. His heart was broken and all I could do was
to try to pull myself together and lay them to rest. As I try to write
you a letter I am crying wondering who will be there for me when my
time comes. My whole family is gone now and I wish every day I was
with them. I want to thank you for this poem it just showed me that I
did do right by my family. Now I am all alone but my Lord and I will
make it."
"Thank you for
sending this to me, yes it brought a tear to my eye. I will certainly
send this on, especially to my eight children, who we love dearly, but
sometimes I wonder if they know that we are doing our best for them.
May they get to know the Good Lord Above who provides for us and has
given us this beautiful world to live in."
"I cried like a baby
when I watched this clip. It is beautifully done, with exceptional
music, too. I want my children, grand children, all my friends to see
this. I also think it should be played to everyone who works in a
nursing home or similar facility, each morning before they begin work
or maybe the music could be piped in as a gently persuasive reminder!
Thank you for doing the presentation. I am keeping it for future
viewing."
"Thank you for
touching my life and reminding me the precious gift of our parents."
"What a touching
personal realization of life between parents and children. People
everywhere should behold the connection of beautiful pictures, Josh's
song, and the written words of the slide show. The parallels bring the
heart and soul to a spiritual understanding of life's beginning and
ending."
"This was sent to me
by a friend who is a nurse. I have just lost my mom after 6 years of
caring for her with Alzheimer's and I am a guardian to others now as
well. We had a conversation about an article on me in the local paper
in which I expressed some of the underlying message this email is all
about. Could not say anything better nor express the feelings we
should have for those that loved us dearly. Thank you and Josh Groban."
"I loved this
presentation. It brought tears to my eyes because this is what I try
to instill in my staff on a daily basis and it is our philosophy for
our senior living community. Thank you for your time and efforts with
this project."
"This is beautiful
and so touching. I'm going through this with my parents right now and
l love them so much. I just want them to live out their days happy or
as happy and comfortable as I can make them. Thanks again!!!!"
"This is wonderful! I
work with families touched by Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias.
This is a great training tool."
"Both of my parents
are in the nursing home and I am having a particular problem with my
mother. I just got back from spending the afternoon with my mother
when I received Parent's Wish. You will never know how much this meant
to me and made me realize this person is really my mom no matter how
she acts. Thanks again."
"I can't begin to
tell you how much this made me feel. I'm at the age where you were
able to say what I feel, as I could not. Thank you."
"I just went through
this very thing with both of my parents. This was sent to me by my
best friend with a note that I had been an 'angel to my parents'.
For anyone out there who is touched by this, know that whatever
sacrifices you make to give your parents' the best final days filled
with your love, you will never regret one moment of your time and
efforts you give back to them. Sometimes it will be the most difficult
time of your life, but also know that walking through those difficult
times, hand in hand, with your parents will be the most precious
memories you will ever create. One more thing.... If you have a
parent(s) that is ill, make wonderful memories with the time you have
now with them. Find laughter and little pleasures to share. Sometimes,
it will be as simple as a funny comment that brings that childlike
smile/grin to their face. THAT is a precious memory. I am so thankful
I was able to share so much with my parents before their passing. Make
the effort/sacrifice, it IS worth it and you won't regret it."
"Enjoyed Josh
Groban's album very much. I would like to know more about this young
man. A friend sent this to me and I cried. I was so pleased with this
one. I sent it on to all my friends and just loved it so very much.
Very inspirational and great to pass on to our children and they pass
it on to their friends. You have made many people happy. God bless all
of you involved in this we site."
"This was so
beautiful it made me cry."
"The show is
beautiful and says it all so perfectly."
"My Grandma just
passed away at the beginning of May of Alzheimer's. Just like it says
she stopped eating, was repeating things, stopped showering, and
didn't want to live anymore. I shared this with my Mom and her
siblings so they could understand what my Grandma wanted to say but
couldn't. Also, I haven't been able to cry much about her passing, I
think I am still in a shocked state because she went so fast. This let
me cry like I needed to and I want to thank you for that, it meant a
lot!"
"I think all human
beings deserve respect and dignity throughout every stage of life.
This is a very moving tribute that shows to all that everyone is
important in every stage of life, especially nearing the end. We need
to remember always all the wisdom and love we have been given for so
many years, now we need to be patient, kind, supportive and above all
loving in return. Respect, dignity, and love is the greatest way to
love someone at the end of their journey through life. God Bless and
keep this tribute alive."
"This has got to be
the most amazing e-mail I have ever received! I would love to have
this copied on a CD and I told my girls that this is something that I
want them to keep in a safe place and always remember the words! I
just buried my sister today and I sent a copy of this to my niece and
nephew and told them to always keep this in their hearts because it is
so true on how us as parents are always there for them and we never
want them to feel that we don't care about them. Again, thank you for
making such a beautiful video that we can all keep and cherish forever
with our children!"
"I was sent the
Parent's Wish...and I loved it so much it made me cry as my father
lives with us and I totally understand it all...or what I get of it. I
just loved it very much! Thank you as I now have a different outlook
on the whole scheme of things."
"This is the most
beautiful expression of life that I have ever seen. Thank you for the
thoughts. I am forwarding it on to my children. This is so true to
heart and living, as the expression saying is 'life goes on'
What a way to express it."
"Life is interesting
and sometimes what seems to be really isn't what it seems to be. I
believe that this movie which meant to evoke an emotional feel good
response between children and parents actually went further to send a
different message. The message which was predominant to me is that
parents have the right to live with dignity. It is a subtle way of
saying if it isn't dignified then it is ok to end it. The frame in the
movie says if a parent doesn't want to eat it is ok. I read a number
of the comments of care givers and people who felt it was beautiful.
Life is beautiful in all of its stages, it is a gift from God and it
is not our decision when to end it for ourselves or for someone else
who may be unable to decide. Many of our old people are already being
told they are a burden, a burden for health care, they can not
contribute to provide for the country any more and so forth. Please
consider these thoughts even though they go against the popular
response."
[Webmaster's
reply: I think you are interpreting the message in a totally
different context. The phrase says "If ever we do not want to eat, do
not force us. We know well when we need to and when not to." It
didn't say that the parent is trying to end his life by not eating. It
simply says, he doesn't feel like eating at that time and he will eat
when he is hungry. If a person is trying not to eat so that he can end
his life quickly, that is another issue but definitely not the message
that this slideshow is trying to convey."
"This is
absolutely awesome. It's everything we have always known in our
hearts, but not put into words. But as we get into the fast track of
life, we often 'forget'. A beautiful reminder, such as this,
will stick with us for a very long time....hopefully as long as we
live."
"I sent the link to
each of my children, this is beautiful...and I hope that they
understand, as I did."
"This was sent to me
by a friend . I opened it on the very day that I had returned from the
Nursing Home visiting with my 86 year old Mother with Alzheimer's. The
Nursing Home had told us that she had stopped eating and that we
needed to consider Hospice for her. I think that it was the most
touching thing that I have ever seen and it came to me at just the
right time, Thank you."
"I've been caring for
an elderly aunt for a year now. She is in the middle stages of
Alzheimer's. All my life she has been like a mother to me when my own
mom was so busy with so many younger siblings. I see other people
being short or impatient with her but it never occurs to me to be that
way. She taught me to sew and to read and to add and protected me from
so many things over the years. It's my turn. I love her."
"This is a moving
clip and if America is to reach it's former glory, we as parents
should pay close attention to this clip. It's all about unity with
family."
"This brought me to
tears. My mother-in-law (closer to me than my own Mother had been) is
85, in a Nursing Home and going through a rough time with her health.
I'm afraid that the phone will ring one day with the news that she is
no longer with us but I keep playing this and it gives me strength.
She's out of State so we don't see her as often as we'd like but we
call her every night. May God watch over us all. Thank you for such a
touching tribute."
"Thank you for a
wonderful site. As I am writing this tears are streaming down my face.
I am experiencing those same things you wrote of in the slide
presentation. My mother was very outgoing but all she does is stay in
the bed and never goes out anymore. I must admit that we did try and
shame Mom when she would not eat or take a bath. It is hard when you
know that she controls this. I miss my mom and the way she use to be
outgoing. Now she chooses not to want to live. Thanks for reminding me
that they do get this way and all we can do is be there for them."
"Thank you for all
your work on this wonderful video. I instinctively knew to treat my
parents and grandparents (all now deceased) with this type dignity as
they faced old age and their final battles with cancer (Mom) and
congestive heart disease (Dad). They had been excellent examples of
Christ's love and shown dignity to the aging of our family. This video
will help me continue to teach my own children this important aspect
of life."
"I am very moved by
your presentation and as Director of Older Adult Ministries for our
large congregation, I would like to be notified when your Parent's
Wish CD is available. Thank you for the ministry you do in sharing
this experience."
"I will be attending
our first family reunion this summer with 80+ relatives. I am going to
send this out to everyone before we get together and share it so we
can all grasp a sense of what God intended us to do, and that to put
FAMILY second after HIM. We are blessed to be so lucky and as I sit
here Looking at a photo of my Grandparents, I know they will be glad I
am sending this, because it was hard on some of my family members and
them when they were aging and not everyone stepped in and helped,
because all of us were so scattered. Now my father is turning 80 and I
am scared to death on how to help him live his life with dignity as he
approaches the twilight years. My mother is alive and in great
condition as is he, but I can tell it will start going down hill in
the next 10-15 years. His father passed away at 96 and his mother at
88. This is the BEST tribute to our growing population and more of
these films should be done so we can face the reality of what is to
come. I personally am of the sandwich generation. Elderly parents and
teenage college kids in my 50's. And I know I am not alone. God has
blessed you with a talent and awareness. Don't stop here. Your work
has just begun."
"I think all children
should watch this video. It is very touching. I took care of my Mom
for 12 years and saw her getting weaker everyday. There were times
when she told me she wanted to die. She passed away last November and
I miss her so much. She was not only my Mom but my best friend. There
were times I would lose my patience with her but I loved her so very
much. My Mom was 93 when she died and I thank God for all the years I
had with her."
"I was so touched
with Parent's Wish, that I passed it on to all my friends and
relatives. It was just beautiful and it brought tears. As for the song
You Raise Me Up, it is my all time favorite and I have played
it over and over. You did a tremendous, wonderful and fulfilling job
with this. Please continue to do more and more, and if possible please
sign me up to receive all of them. Thank You So Much For All Your
Work."
"THANK YOU.
Beautifully expressed ... a request to honor our parents... an
opportunity to return their gift."
"I just viewed your
video and it really comes at a time when my dear mom has Alzheimer's
and sometimes it gets so hard, but this video was a good reminder of
what my mom did for me growing up and what she put up with. Dad is
gone, but I treasure this time my mom is still with me. It takes a lot
of patience and love, I could never abandon her when she worked so
hard and sacrificed so much for us kids."
"I can tell you it
touched my heart. It was awesome. This needs to reach more people so
they can understand how our seniors feel. Our young people need an eye
opener to this. Thank you so much. The music was also awesome."
"Great Inspiration
knowing that this is real. Our parents are getting older, NOT younger!
Thanks for the insight! I miss them already and they are still alive
and doing great!"
"This is the best
thing I have read in a long, long time. It says it all. It is
meaningful, and very well done, and I love Josh Groban's music. It
says what you want to say to your children. I sent it to all of my
children and my friends. Thank you very much."
"It was beautiful but
I am hesitant to send it to my children for in one part it seems to be
asking to help us die, i.e., assisted suicide."
"Wow, I really
enjoyed it and profited from it. I am 67 and taking care of my 90 yr
old mom. Lousy hearing and ultimately deafness runs in our family.
This is really hurtful for the person suffering from it. My wife
passed away and I am learning to cook and having a blast doing it and
mom keeps saying, 'Gee, be sure to keep this recipe!'.
"The wording in the
video clip are very similar to a poem from the Alzheimer Society that
I read a few years back and is very touching. Both my mother and aunt
have passed away from this nasty disease so this has brought back
wonderful memories. Thank you."
"I just loved this
video. Brought back so many memories of my Mom that died 5 years ago
from a long battle with M.S. The words and especially the music make
it so inspiring. You couldn't have picked a better choice of song or
singer. Thank you for getting this back 'on site'. A number of my
friends found it as moving as I did and were disappointed when we
weren't able to access it any longer. IT IS NOT SOMETHING YOU LOOK AT
ONLY ONCE. To me it is a weekly reminder - a good one - of the time
shared with my Mom. Thank you again."
"This was sent to me
by my daughter. I feel sure she wanted to remind me to be more patient
with my 90 year old mother. I thanked her and told her to keep this
website handy for when it was my time. This is so true to life
and very moving."
"The first time I saw
this was right after my dad passed away, it touched me dearly. If ever
there is a way to get a copy of the disc, I would be so grateful."
"It is an amazing
production!"
"This video has had
such a profound effect on me, caring for my mother in my home right
now from a stroke and leg amputation within a year after my dad passed
away in 2002. It is a very loving reminder of what we are capable of
doing to assist our loved ones in their time of need now, when they
once did all of the care giving once when we were growing up. As our
parents, they had the opportunity to watch us grow up and become more
independent, stronger, more intelligent and self-sufficient. As adult
children we see the highs and the lows in our aging parents and it
hurts so tremendously to see what they are going through. We see
things happening in reverse almost and it shames our parents to have
to become so reliant on the children they once raised. The circle of
life is not the same for every family, but for those of us living with
the ongoing challenges of parental and child role reversals, we find
ourselves needing all of the strength and encouragement we can find in
words of wisdom, like this video displays so beautifully."
"I would be
interested in finding out if you do come out with this awesome slide
show on CD. I just watched it again after not seeing it for a few
months, and yes, I had tears again. I have not viewed it once that it
didn't bring tears to my eyes. It is a very powerful and touching
tribute to parents."
"Thanks for putting
together Parent's Wish. I'm 55 and have lost both my mother and my
father in recent years. Your tribute provided a new depth of feeling
and understanding both for them, but for the following generations -
including my son's, that is invaluable."
"This reduced me to
tears. My dear Dad passed away three years ago and my Mother, living
alone for the first time in her life, just doesn't want to be here
anymore. She's too old at 89 to pursue new interests and they did
everything together. Dad was helped on his way with diamorphine but
Mum's not ill so I can't help her in the same way. I'm not always as
patient as I should be - I also have a schizophrenic son who needs
time and who prevents us from bringing my mother to live nearer."
"Thank you so much
for sharing this slideshow.... It is awesome!!"
"We enjoyed the slide
show immensely and would appreciate a copy of CD when available."
"I am now 75 and my
husband is 81, and though we are still independent who knows what
might happen next. And hopefully they will love us as much in our last
days, too. That is one of the most beautiful tributes I have ever
heard. Thank you so much for that touching program you so lovingly
develop, and I hope you find out some day who wrote the original. God
bless you."
"This is one of the
most beautiful tribute's I have ever read! God bless you for doing
this!"
"So happy someone
finally said what is in my heart. The best video I have seen, period.
Keep up the good work."
"I've seen many
different clips/videos but all I can say this is the best by far.
It's so loving and real it kinda makes you sit for ages after it and
just think about your life, memories and how you see the future if
that's possible."
"It's all about
family and so TRUE. It brings tears to your eyes."
"A friend forwarded
me this site. I was very touched and told her that is exactly what I
wanted to say to my children someday. AS A PARENT I also have fears of
how they'll be towards me when I get old and 'useless'.
Hopefully, they'll love me and my husband the way we loved them from
day one till we die."
"Oh, gosh, I normally
don't like syrupy music and sentimental ramblings about getting old
since I'm 55, but this truly brought tears to my eyes. I thought of my
parents who passed away years ago and I think of my children who are
now in their 30s and me! It's a precious analogy."
"I would say its an
awesome piece but wonder as some have tough shells to crack through at
times. A definite worthwhile video. Keep up the good work!!!"
"I really enjoyed
this. I was a caregiver for my wonderful grandmother who passed away
at the young age of 95 years old. The things that I learned from her
and the knowledge she had was so special. Also this is the song that
my son elected to have for him and I on his wedding day. So it has
double meaning to me. I have sent it to him to see and to a very
special friend as well who just lost her father. Thank you for the
meaning of love."
"I am sixty-eight
years old, and not in that final stage of life yet, but what you said
is so true that it made me cry. Thank you for your thoughtfulness."
"I am in my eighties
now and I am so lucky that my big family treats me with love and
dignity but I know many elderly that don't get the same treatment. I
love Josh Groban and have his CD's. Thank you for making this site
available. What a precious gift to everyone!"
"This is beautiful
and very relevant. At 81 years and married 63 -- it really touched my
heart. Thank you. Let us know when the CD becomes available."
"That is one of the
best ones Iv'e ever seen. Keep up the good work. I sent it out to
different ones and they were all crying. Thank you for such a lovely
site."
"This video has been
the most moving thing I have ever seen. I can truly relate to every
caption that comes up. You see I work in a nursing home and everyday I
deal with situations that relate to this video. Also my parents are
aging and it really makes a person realize that patience is everything
when it comes to the aging world. It also gives me a better
understanding of how the elderly should and deserve to be treated:
with a total abundance of love and respect. Thank you so much for
giving me the opportunity to see this, it is something I will keep on
hand and watch over and over again."
"Thank you so very
much for being inspired to give this to us. It is one of the most
beautiful tributes I have ever seen. Like everyone else, I shed some
very personal tears. I sent to my children, sisters, friends, and
everyone I could think of. My only son has had a serious 'misunderstanding'
with my ex-husband, his father, (because I am divorced) who is now 86
years old. I am praying my son takes this to heart and the Lord will
guide them back to a good relationship. Otherwise, I know my son will
have terrible regrets one day in the not too distant future. God bless
you."
"Your beautiful
presentation spoke volumes!!! I am looking after a nearly 92 year old
Mum. Just thank you for taking the time to put such a wonderful
presentation together."
"Thank you for this
moving page. It brought tears of joy and sadness to me. I have been
thinking of my father who is sick and all he has done for my family
and what a wonderful way to see the differences in the fathers of
today. Thank you and I will be looking for more to come from your
site. God bless."
"Thank you for such
an Inspiring Wish. My mother suffered 8 strokes more than 14 years
ago. Her health has deteriorated over the years and I have watched
with great sadness her go from independence to fully dependent. It is
VERY difficult watching your parents grow old. Your movie has
confirmed what I've known all along: we come into this world an infant
and in many instances we leave this world almost the same way,
however, the miracles are not the same. Thank you for reminding me of
what they have done for me and my role as their daughter."
"I thought the
presentation was lovely and thought provoking. Thanks for sharing."
"How strange. I awoke
this morning thinking about my soon to be 17 year old grandson, who is
frightened to death about graduating and going out into the world, to
college and being on his own. This will help him as well as other
young people to understand that, even if we are not around God is
ALWAYS there to carry you through the rough parts, to guide, direct
and give you strength to do what you have to do. The message in this
song has become one of my favorites."
"I am rapidly
entering my 'twilight' years and so appreciated 'Parent's Wish'. It
conveys exactly what all elderly parents want their children to know
and understand of them. I have sent it to my grown sons. I'm sure they
will be forever grateful that I did. The slideshow says all that an
aging parent wants their child to know. It truly is the most beautiful
e-mail I have ever received!! Thank you!!!"
"Words do not
describe it. Thanks Mom and Dad."
"Taking care of my
elderly father for the last two years made me a stronger person. God
Bless everyone who cares for their parents."
"I think it is very
touching and enjoy it very much! Have passed info on to my contacts."
"Oh, my God! This is
really nice. It made me cry. I'll remember my father. Thank you for
sharing this!"
"Just received this
beautiful video, having lost my mom 3 years ago with dementia, and now
my dad seems to be entering this stage at age 96, it will help me to
better understand his needs and patience that I should have had with
my mom. I will definitely pass it on to other friends and relatives.
We all need a reminder sometime that we too will reach that stage in
our lives. Thank you again."
"Wow. that was one of
the powerful slideshows that I have seen. At times it was difficult to
read through my tears. I hope you are successful in keeping this
available. Many thanks."
"Seriously depressing
that you actually have to tell people to take good care of their
parents. In every other society, parents live with their children
until they die. In America everybody is so busy trying to keep up with
the Joneses that no one is home to care for the young or the elderly.
It is so sad that our country has come to this."
"Our cousin sent this
on to us and it has been over an hour since I first watched it. The
tears are still falling as I have watched it several times as I sent
on to our children and to other family members so they can send it to
their children. This is a truly wonderful movie. My parents are gone,
but I had the honor of being there for them when they needed me. As a
nurse I have seen many children care for their parents and also many
who didn't seem to have the patience to do so. Thanks so much for
making this available and please make it into a CD."
"I just want you to
know that I think this is one of the most beautiful sites I have
visited. I sure have shed a few tears watching it. Thank you for
providing it to us."
"It brought tears
running down my cheeks as I viewed it. I am going to send it to my
sister in Florida who deals with my mom on a daily basis, as the rest
of us are out of state and only have to hear about it over the phone
or deal with the little annoying things when we go visit."
"This was a very
moving tribute to all of our parents. We come into this world with so
much hope and promise. It's unfortunate many don't have the same grace
and flair when it comes time to exit. This is a very helpful reminder
that there is a circle of life. I lost both my parents in the last 6
years. Mom fought cancer three times and was victorious twice. Dad
struggle with Alzheimer's for 6 years and was blessed to have quality
almost to the end."
"OH wow! it says it
all!!!!"
"This is a very
moving and emotional slideshow."
"Appropriate.
Insightful. Moving. Peace is found in Christ Jesus for every stage of
life. If you just 'winced' when you read this, you don't have it. You
can get it if you will cry out to Jesus- he can hear you even if it is
a whisper."
"Just wanted to let
you know I enjoyed the movie very much. I forwarded it to my children.
I hope they will enjoy it also. Thank you very much for putting it on
again."
"I am fourteen. I am
crying like I was two. This will always hold a spot in my memory for
those days when my parents are as described."
"I am the director of
marketing for a group of retirement residences, and enjoyed the slide
show so much."
"Thank you very much.
Happy to get this back but I really wish they could put it on Windows
Media Player Video so I could keep it permanently. Its beautiful."
"What about Oprah
Winfrey as a corporate sponsor? She would be an ideal partner."
"Reality comes in all
different packages. This particular package, no one is exempt form...
impact/emo- tional/physical/mental and draws our hearts to what we
truly need to see and understand. Thank-you for bringing this
particular reality closer to heart and soul. Josh Groban in my
estimation is one who also reaches into the very heart and soul."
"l've been very
touched by this clip as tears flowed down my face. Thank you and God
Bless."
"Thank you so much
for this beautiful message. It is so real. I will distribute it to all
my friends. It is a wonderful reflection for everyone, no matter what
age."
"This is so touching.
I get emotional everytime I read it. My parents are approaching 80. I
emailed this to them and told them they have my promise that I will do
as this lovely slideshow has mentioned. I would love to have it on
CD!!"
"I have just visited
my sister-in-law who has dementia. Felt sad and a little angry because
such a beautiful person was rendered to this state. I turned on the
computer and was sent this email and I cried. I realize I needed this
reminder that these things are the workings of someone much more in
control than I. Keep up the good work. God Bless."
"Thank you, this is
so wonderful and I am really glad to see it back up and running. My
Mother sent it to me. I in return sent it to my daughter and she will
eventually share it with her daughter who is still a little to young
to understand. That make four generations that will have received this
and it is truly a Godsend."
"Thank you for
sharing it with so many and your willingness to go to the trouble to
do so."
"I, as I am sure
others would do the same, would gladly pitch in a bit to keep this
site going for as long as possible should a corporate sponsor not come
forward."
"Thank you for
providing such a touching slide show for all of us who need to be
reminded of how important it is to understand the trials of aging."
"I have a ninety year
old mother that I've been impatient with lately. I cried when I saw
the video and will try harder to be a better daughter."
"That is the best I
have seen in such a long time. I am glad someone is out there who can
put into words what others have so long tired to say. It is a great
peace of art."
"Thank you so much
for bringing this back....it is an awesome reminder of who we all
are."
"Thank you. Truly the
slide show is beautiful and I'll share it broadly."
"Right now our
children are being forced to come to grips with their father's age and
illness. Your slideshow will certainly bring home the point. Thanks so
much!"
"It brings tears to
my eyes each time I view it. It is something beautiful that should be
preserved and passed on to the next generations."
"This is a very
moving and sensitive video clip. It made me wept. Thanks for such a
good work done which touches many lives."
"My parents are both
in their final stages of life. After viewing this, I realized that I
had been impatient, angry and sad that they have aged and may not be
here much longer. I hope to follow this wonderful advice and pass it
on to my children so that they too can better understand me when I
reach that summit of life. Thank you!!!"
"Thank you so much.
This is truly beautiful. Worth waiting for!"
"I spent 22 years of
my life working with and loving older, fragile people. So often, their
children did not perceive them as real people but as burdens. This is
by far the most moving piece I have ever seen about aging parents. I
will make sure my children see it. Thank you so much."
"I could not watch
this without getting emotional. My husband and I are now taking care
of my mother-in-law who had a stroke in November. She is a wonderful
lady who has done so much for us and our children throughout the years
that I feel it an honor to be able to repay her in this way. Family is
all that we have and it is up to us to take care of our own. Thanks
for a wonderful reminder of what life is all about."
"This was my first
mother's day without her. I am reminded once again of the importance
of how much they need to be treated with dignity and I am thankful
that I had the insight, while I still had her to do just that. I am
passing this on to others so that they may also know."
"I was so happy to
see Parent's Wish return. A friend sent this to me in January 2006 the
day my dear Mother died. She had spent many years as an invalid and
this was a very touching experience. I had it saved in my Favorites
and am so glad it is back."
"This is probably the
best email I have ever received. It touches my heart so much that it
has taken me a long time to finish seeing the whole thing because it
gets me crying just like I'm about right now. So please let me know
when the CD becomes available."
"I work within a
health region and this has been shared with a number of my colleagues,
and we have all appreciated the respect and dignity for our parents
portrayed through this presentation. Thank you to everyone who created
it, and also chose to share it with us. If you could inform me when a
CD copy is available I would appreciate it, as this truly is a
'keeper.'
"What a wonderful
presentation and soothing to those of us with aging parents."
"Thank you so very
much for all you are doing with this great movie. I definitely want a
CD when available. I my wish to buy more than one and give to my
sisters, brothers and nieces as gifts."
"God Bless the person
who created this. I cry every time I play it. My sister told me I have
changed toward my mom, that I am more patient and we seem to enjoy
each other more. I catch myself now every time I start to say 'You
already told me about that' and just listen over again. I even
find I enjoy hearing the same story again. I find myself walking
slower with her and take her arm to help steady her, but always tell
her 'I am not holding you up mom, as always you are holding me up'.
I am sending this to my family members. I can't remember when I have
been more inspired. Thank you so very much for giving me the ability
to really cherish and love my time with my mom."
"Thank you so much
for bringing Parent's Wish back. My Mom is in the first stages of
Alzheimer's and she is my best friend. She and my Dad just moved next
door to me so I am also their caregiver. I needed this website to
remind me that I need to have patience with them. When I got stressed
or aggravated with her I just watched this show and it gave me the
patience I needed. Without it I don't think I would have been very
nice."
"It hits me right in
the heart and said so many things I wish I could say to my son. I hope
I can have him view it and understand where his mother and I are in
our lives. My wife is currently in the same position with her 92 year
old mother and I know it will effect her as much as it has me. Thank
you again and please know how much it was appreciated."
"I wish I could have
sent this to my father before his passing."
"Thank you so much
for sending me the Parent's Wish presentation. I have forwarded the
address to so many of my friends and family members. It says so many
things, we rarely think about."
"I can only say-
thank you so much. This is beautiful and once again thank you for
letting me know it was available. It is soooo true!"
"Thank you so much
for making this available. May God bless."
"This was absolutely
moving and I am grateful that it came back and you sent me notice of
this. I feel so touched and it brings to thought the love and care we
should always hold dear to our hearts for the enduring love and care
our parents gave to us. No words ever truer were spoken. Thank You."
"This slide show is
so awesome, serves again as a reminder of just how precious life at
any stage is. Thank you for persevering enough and making this
possible for so many to view/enjoy and most important of all to share
with loved ones."
"Thank you so much,
that is beautiful. Dealing with an older parent, you sometimes forget
all that they have done for you."
"Thank you so very
much for this awesome piece. I will always remember the feelings that
gave me peace."
"This especially hits
my heart. My Mother is in the very last stage of Alzheimer’s and every
message really is true. Reading this on Mother’s Day really brought
the tears. I like to think they were cleansing tears."
"Tears ran down my
face the first time I read/heard 'Parent's Wish' and they did
again today, when I read it. I am so glad it is back. Thank you, thank
you. Mother of 5, grandmother of 7, great grandmother of 6."
"I can't begin to
tell you how helpful this presentation has been for my family, and
close friends..."
"As my husband and I
prepare to welcome our first grandchild, we are awed by this most
powerful and beautiful presentation. Thank you a thousand time for
helping to re-dignify those that society sometimes pushes aside in
favor of youth and beauty."
"I love this slide
show! When my grandmother developed Alzheimer's I watched many people
in my family step away from her, because of it. I never walked away
and neither did my mother. It angered me that my family felt she was
already dead. To me it was just another part of who she was. Your
slide show is an excellent reminder. Thank you."
"I am sending this
link to a dear friend of mine. I very recently assisted him in placing
his mother in a nursing home, as she was well beyond being cared for
at home by him and by myself. I think this will help him work through
his sadness at having made this change in his mother's life."
"I sent it to my
friends who were taking care of their father after heart surgery and
were troubled that he needed care like a child and were a bit
frustrated with the burden he was causing them and their family. After
seeing this the whole family's attitude changed and the one daughter
that was struggling with his care said 'That is just what I needed.'
I know the Lord directed me to send it to them and that it helped them
through the difficult time. Their dad just sent me an E-mail and he is
doing well and fully recovered."
"An absolutely moving, tender and very sensitive slideshow. Whoever created this is a very
special person and our e-mails should have more of these . It would
help create a better world. We should have Emmy's for these type of 'shared
specials' instead of the filth the secular world offers. God bless
people with such a special eye for 'The forgotten' that was
missed in a rushed world."
"This is truly an
inspirational piece of truth – my Mother was in her final stages of
life when I received this from my cousin – I cried, my husband cried
and when my sister arrived to spend Mom’s final days with her, she
cried when I shared it with her. Our Mother passed a few days
afterwards, but I wish we could have this message back again to hold
in our hearts and pass on to our children – we will never forget it
and hope to be able to copy it on to a disc for future use for our
family and friends."
"Parent's Wish was a
very uplifting slideshow. I had recently lost my mother and my father
was not doing well and it reminded me just how much they have done for
us and now it is our turn to return the favour. Be kind and
patient and loving with your parents as they have been with you. If a caregiver of a parent ever feels overwhelmed I am sure this slide
show would be just what they need to appreciate their parents again."
"This is definitely a
good reminder for us to never forget all that our parents have done
for us. Once they are older, it is now our turn to give to them, as
they have to us. We should not turn a blind eye towards them and let
the 'system' take care of them."
"This is a must that
our family and friends be able to be touched by PARENTS WISH. I would
like to be part of spreading the love this brings after reading."
"Beautiful and a tear
from anyone who was lucky enough to see this."
"It's one of the most
beautiful and rewarding things I have ever had the pleasure of
viewing."
"I couldn't help but
cry because it hits so close to home. Everybody I sent it to felt the
same way."
"I was so touched
when I viewed Parent's Wish and I forwarded it to all my friends and
family. It left all of them speechless and in tears. The most
beautiful slide show we've ever seen."
"I have never read
such a touching story in all my life, and from the other comments that
I read I am not the only one."
"This is one I never
want to lose track of. It tugs at the heartstrings like nothing I've
ever seen. My deep appreciation to the creator and those who made it
available."
"I keep it and each
time I have read it I cry. My children are much more understanding of
me. Getting on in age they now understand. Thank you."
"I'm living these sentiments now as I deal with the trials and
tribulations of a 93-year-old father. This needs to be shared
and shared and shared! I'm thankful I was able to read it before it
was removed."
"Please bring this
back as it is so very touching and is also a gentle reminder to
so many out there to remember our parents and that also someday
'they' will someday be 'us'!"
"This is the most
beautiful article, being an old woman, I think it should be kept on
everyone's PC--especially our children whom will one day be in our
shoes."
"I was saddened when
I went in to watch this slideshow, which to me has got to be one of
the most beautiful, inspiring, uplifting shows I have ever seen, and
to find out it was no longer available."
"I just happen to be
working with an aging parent again and it was just what I needed to
see and refer back to."
"I sent it to so many
people. It was absolutely beautiful. I lived through this 5 years ago
with my Mother and it was devastating."
"It is one of the few
items I have saved into my mail, and I would view it from time to time
to feel inspired and to remember those I love."
"It was an absolutely
moving piece. My father-in-law recently passed away at the age of 89.
My husband wasn’t able to watch this because he was too emotional at
the time this was sent to me. I really would like him to watch as we
now deal with his aging mother."
"This was the most
beautiful and touching thing I've gotten thru e-mail. I played it
daily."
"It is the most
moving e-mail I have ever received and I did enjoy looking at
it."
"I've referred many
of our family members to it - it has been of so much value to people
who are dealing with pain, sickness and death of a loved family
member."
"This has to be the
most touching video I have ever seen. We've been having some problems
with my adult step son and I forwarded this video to him.
Unfortunately, we still haven't heard from him. Although it seems to
not have touched him, it most certainly touched my husband and I
was very disappointed to see it gone when I wanted to view it again.
It struck a very deep cord and moved my soul."
"I would listen to
this every day - it just brought peace and comfort."
"This is a very
touching material that should not be lost."
"It is a wonderfully
uplifting accessory to the days of a 70 year old, incapacitated
Christian. Please, allow it back on the web page. Thank you and thank
God for people who think of those who are not so fortunate."
"I had the honor of
caring for my father as he died of a brain tumor. This blessed me so
much."
"Thank you so much
for the beautiful presentation, it made me cry! Whoever done it, did a
very good job! "
"It touched me so
much. I just cried as I have a parent that is ailing also. Why did
something so touching be taken off?"
"It was one of the
most beautiful poems about a MOM I have ever read."
"I found it
incredibly moving and inspirational… especially since I work in a long
term care setting."
"It was the most
touching and thought provoking slide show I've ever seen."
"I am presently going
through a change in my parents lives and this slide show says it all."
"I wanted to send it
to my five siblings, as our father is going through some difficult
times and they need to find some compassion and understanding for
him."
"We were touched by
this e-mail. It makes you think about all that you take for granted."
"I watched it over
and over and cried each time. I wanted to send it to my sister but
realized It wasn't available any more. I truly hope that you will be
able to get it back again. Maybe if some of this junk that we're
getting all of the time was stopped some of the good things could come
through."
"I didn't want the
slide show, I just wanted the beautiful words. I have never heard such
wonderful things about what a mom lives through if she is truly a good
mom."
"I thoroughly enjoyed this. It touches my heart in so many ways.
Thank you very much"
"It was very
impressive and a good reminder about the feelings of our parents."
"This is such an
awesome and moving video. I want to see it again and share it with
more friends and family. I will anticipate its return."
"I have sent it to
all my children as it is so beautiful and so true! Thank you."
"I found this to be one of the most touching shows I have witnessed
on the net."
"This was the most beautiful piece I have ever read. I liked to
read it each day and cried everytime. All my family were crazy for it
too. I am a volunteer (Palliative Care) Hospice person and it sure hits
me."
"I am a caregiver and
I cried when I read this and I sent it on to all my friends and was
disappointed when it was deleted from my PC."
"I loved this video clip, used it in family dynamics class."
"I relate to it intensely not because of age, I'm only 34, but
because of medical conditions, parallels can easily be drawn and makes
the experience all the more personal."
"This was one
of the most moving documents I've ever seen - and I was so disappointed to
find it was no longer in my hold box. I am in the throes of caring for a
93 year old Mother and your email was truly uplifting - please let me know
when it becomes available."
"I was
so impressed and moved by Parent's Wish. I have my Mom in an assisted
living facility and this site has helped me so much with patience and
understanding with this situation. At the time I save this so I could
listen to it often to replenish my patience. I was so sad to hear I
couldn’t any longer."
"I watched it three times and have cried
each time. I promised it to people so I hope you are able to pull this one
off! I will be watching and waiting. I even emailed the singer and asked
him if he knew about it and could he direct me to the place I could watch
it again." l
"I am a caregiver to my mother in my home
and this slideshow made so many things clear to me. I felt comforted in
the knowledge that others know what this experience of caring for an aging
parent is like. It helped me to become a better and more understanding
caregiver and took some of my frustrations away."
"It was just the piece that we needed to
hear as our Mother is not able to continue living on her own."
"It is important that we all remain aware
that our parents have earned all the dignity, respect, and understanding
that we, as a society, can possibly give!"
"I truly enjoy it and it reminds me much
of my grandmother who passed away last year and it couldn't have come at a
better time."
"I have been planning a Mother's day gift
to my kids. I really need this on two CD's for my two daughters who do not
understand as old people do, how it is to get old."
"I have read all the letters and hope
that you can forward these letters to Bill Gates. I am sure he will help.
Though I was not able to see the slide show I know in my bones that it
must have touched and help a lot of people. I am also very sure that it
will help to create the kind of world we want our children to inherit!!!
I am very sure God will send your a helping hand. God's blessings be with
you."
"I shared it with all my friends and
family, and hope they will remember this when I get to old age."
"Your email was a heaven sent to me. Like
the Lord knew who needed to see it for what ever reason. My dad is dying
from cancer and his pain has made him mean. It has taken some time for him
to adjust to the pain medication and now he is himself again, for how long
no-one knows. But your message has given me what I needed to help him
fight this battle. It was very trying many times to want to stay civil,
but your message was planted in my heart and soul and the peace came over
me like a shield. I am so sadden that server providers can allow jokes
across the waves, yet have something that has substance have it banned???"
"Please notify me when your wonderful
slide show is again available. I cried like a baby when I watched it for
the first time."
"This is such a reminder for those of us
who are taking care of the elderly, as well as a reminder we will all
reach the stage of our life."
"Please bring it back again it is very
toughing and heartwarming. Makes you think of how older parents/people
need to be remembered."
"My Mom and Dad are in their 80's and a
Parent's Wish helped me so much in dealing with them. Please make it

father three days before Christmas. I experienced many of these things
with him and both sets of grandparents."
"I cried when I watched it and want my
sister to see it."
"This is a beautiful piece, please let us
know when it becomes available again."
"Do really hope you find a site as this
is one of the most beautiful slideshows I have ever seen and the words
etc. are most fitting. Having lost both of my parents now, loved to go and
read thru it ever so often and have had requests to send it again to
others."

the internet. It relates to everyone in everyone's life. Please, please,
bring it back. It is a must see. This has touched so many many lives."

I've ever seen."

to remove this incredible slide show!!!"
"This is one of the best internet things
I have ever read."
"This is a very touching email and if it
doesn't come back I will be very upset."
"I have a mother who is dying and
currently under Hospice Care. I have forwarded this piece to everyone I
know, but every so often I re-send it to remind everyone that we all will
get our turn. I cry every time I view and listen to it. Please advise when
it becomes available once again and God Bless the website who takes over."
"This
is the most meaningful showing of how important it is to love and respect
all people, seniors and especially our parents. THANK YOU!"

young. I would like to see this beautiful piece back on the internet to
send to everyone I know and to keep it going. It does bring tears to your
eyes. Thank you for the inspiration."
"My mom passed away four days before
Thanksgiving and when I received this link, it really hit home. Since I
could not care for her at home any longer, she was living in a nursing
home. I spent all of my time there with her, so I have seen all of these
truths first hand the past few years. This presentation is absolutely
beautiful and I hope it makes people think deeper into themselves about
their lives. THANK YOU for sharing this with all of us."
"I watched this video countless times
since the death of my father. Please, please make this available again. I
am sure that those of us who have seen it would gladly make donations to
what ever the cost may be of finding a dedicated server. I was able to let
go of my grief and go back through all of the wonderful memories of
growing up and being taught, inspired and loved by my extraordinary
father. This video allowed me to see and believe that at the end of my
father's life, I was able to help him and give back to him just a fraction
of the love he gave to me. Please don't let this video fade away."
"I thought it was one of the most

patients. They are important people and have contributed so much to
our society."

to it."

slideshow as I work in a senior retirement center and supportive housing.

available. It is one of the best things I've seen and would like to share
it with others."

life's blessings."
"I have so many friends that need to know
that what they did for their parents passed on was so honorable!!! What a
great slideshow!"

until she passed away and this video was so meaningful to me."

since my Father is aging. I want to send it to other friends."

it so please let me know when it is available as she really wants to see
it."

forwarded it to my grandchildren and children as it was not long ago that
my family dealt with this with our beloved mother."
"Thank you for putting up this tribute to
our senior citizens. I have a mother living all alone in Tokyo, Japan, and
it has helped me to be more responsive to her loneliness and need to talk.
I know this has ministered to countless thousands and appreciate it so
much."
"I'm currently a teacher in a Catholic
High School and would like to share it with my students just to put things
into perspective for them since they have a tendency to take many things
for granted."
"Thank you for the beautiful heartwarming
reminder of how precious life is and how we all come around full circle."
"I was so saddened to learn this was
removed from circulation! This should be forwarded to every middle age
person with an aging parent. It touches the soul for any palliative family
trying to deal with the loss of a loved one. It certainly might help many
put their blessings into perspective, and forget about themselves for a
change. Please put me on the list should this circulate again!"
"When I gave this to my son to read he
cried like a baby. Please get it back. It's such a beautiful lesson for

to me."

mind as a child and would like to forward it to my children. It has been
the most touching presentation I have ever seen and the person(s) who
developed this powerful show should receive an award."

this remarkable presentation. As the saying goes, 'A picture is worth a
thousand words.' I show this slideshow to help people understand about
the ageing process, ageism and elder abuse."
"This video has helped me so much. My dad
is dying and some days are better than others. Seeing this has made me bit
my lip and sit there and listen even when I was late because when he is
gone it then will be too LATE to listen."

uplifting pieces like Parent's Wish instead of all the garbage that is
passed around on the computer."
"I am in the
midst of a difficult time with my aged mother who has always been an
angry, troubled woman. It has been hard to want to be around her and be
the target of her anger over the years. Soft feelings for her have been
hard to come by. This presentation
is helping me to deal with and put aside the wounds Mom has inflicted on
us and try to be a part of a serene and contented end-stage life I want
for her. When I play and view your presentation, I gain peace and
encouragement."
"No matter how many times I've seen it,
it makes me cry everytime."

very short and treasure who you have in it today because you never know
what tomorrow brings."

Alzheimer's. In fact, I am having a tough time right now accepting his
abuse (from the disease) and thought I would watch it again to remind me-
It's not him talking, just his illness."
"It's absolutely beautiful and oh so
true."
"I always warn everyone not to watch this
without a box of tissues nearby! Of all the "inspirationals" that
get passed around, this is the very best! Thanks for trying to get it "up"
again.
"It was heartwarming and yet convicting.
Please put it on again."

my father, who has gone blind from Giant Cell Arthritis. Please let me
know when it is available again."
"As part of the sandwich generation -
having both a parent and children who need us, I shared this with my
family and hope they will keep in mind - as I must with my own mother -
what the impact of aging implies and how the cycle of life repeats
itself."
"It is the most beautiful site I have
ever seen and everyone I have sent it to feels exactly the same!! Thank
you."
"That is an all time favorite!"
"I sent this to my six children and I
hope that they gain the same understanding that I did by watching the
show."
"I work at a hospital and it was so true
that so many older people feel that way and children would benefit to see
and read it because it hits home and made me want to cry as my own mother
is getting older and the feelings are so much the same. See what you can
do its so worth it."
"I miss the Parents' Wish so very much.
Hope you are able to put it back again very soon. It is one of the nicest

it forever. What a letdown when it was removed."

share it with my 84 year young Mother and 100 year young Grandmother."

enough to not care about the traffic or time. Thank you and bless you for
this quality E-Mail. There is too much junk floating around and being
forwarded every second of every day. This piece was so refreshing after
the junk-o-rama."
"My elderly Dad lives with us so we can
all appreciate this presentation. Sure does put a different perspective on
things. Thanks you again."

show. I have shared it with many friends around the world. Everyone who
replies back thanks me profusely for the timing of their receipt. The
thanks goes to y’all. Please notify me when you have it up and running."
"It surely is a keepsake. I've been an RN
for 22 years and have seen a lot of older patients with their
children-this says it all."
"I am dealing with the end of Parkinson's
in my dad. Sometimes with the dementia his world is his own. Can't
wait to see it and remember my dad in the good days."

home this really touched a lot of our hearts and souls. We were hoping to
give this site out to the families so that they can look at their lives a
little differently."

very close to home. When I first read it, it gave me strength and comfort.
I look forward to seeing it again."

to send it to our other sister and she could not get it, so please do what
you can to get it back, it is soooo true with how our parents took time
with us in helping and caring and now we need to do the same thing."
"This has been one of the most beautiful
and heart warming e-mails I have ever received and had the privilege of
forwarding to friends and family."

Please bring it back, it should be passed on to everyone! I've lost both
my parents, and my husband has lost his dad, it sure was a tear jerker for
us! So meaningful."
"I think you should make this available
again, it can really lift a person and help them heal."

video."

first became sick and missed it when it was removed. It brought new
meaning to my relationship between me and my parents."
"The most beautiful slide show I have
seen in my life!"
"Please bring back that beautiful and
heart touching slide show. I cried and loved it at the same time."
"This has to be the most amazing thing I
have ever viewed in my computer. I once spent a whole night sending it to
friends and family who were so touched it would take some of them hours
later before they could even speak about it. It was the most truthful
story one could ever tell. It made me sit back and really take a great
appreciation for my parents whom are still living. I thank God that your
site made me realize how precious they are and always have been to me."
"It was so touching and profound. I hope
you can find a server to provide the bandwidth required very soon."
"Who ever made this Parent's Wish is
awesome and wonderful. God has given you this wisdom in order to flashback
the past of our childhood and to thank every parents who did a good job in
rearing their children"
"I would really at least like to have the
words. My mom is sick and my oldest brother needs to read this."
"I would like to send it to my sister
since she and I are taking care of our 93 yr old mother who actually lives
with my daughter who I consider an angel for the job she is doing in
helping my mother in these waning years."
"My father emailed it to me and said that
when I have enough time to be alone and "recover" from the emotions that
this will cause...to watch it."
"Very, very touching this was and I know
people who would like to receive this. Many thanks!"
"This was great, I watched it almost each
time I sat at the computer. My son printed the words to the song so that
he could sing along."
"I receive e-mails every day, this by far
is the most wonderful piece that I have ever seen. I was playing it daily
and I was so sad to see it gone today. I can’t wait for it’s return. Thank
you so much for the beautiful reminder."
"Wow, this is the best email I have ever
received. It should be a part of every senior centre in North America. I
cannot tell you how, it has touched my family."
"What a beautiful inspirational message.
The words were so powerful and the music was very touching. I am at the
stage in life where I am the grandmother and the kids are having to have
patience with me. I cried and wept and thought how true it is. We will all
be at this stage some day. Loved it."
"The slide show was so touching and made
me relate to some of things I went through with my father. After seeing it
I really wish I would have had more understanding. I hope dad is looking
down on me and will forgive me."
"My mother passed away six months ago, and
Parent's Wish helped me during my hard days. I needed to see it today."
"With all of the useless and degenerating
information, on the web, I found this lovely production to be an island of
peace and renewal. Please bring it back soon."
"It really touched me and when I'm down I
listen to this song and it makes everything right again."
"It was sent to me just six days before
my father passed away. I had not opened it yet but in the wee hours of the
morning after his passing the night before it gave me such comfort. Now
Mom and I are left with each other and sadly she has Dementia, thankfully
though in the early stages. I have a few years with her before the
cognitive skills begin to really fade and this was like a beacon to me. I
enjoyed watching it daily. As any caregiver knows, the job becomes
tiring and has its trials and this keeps my focus and attitude where it
should be."
"I sent this e-mail to the children of an
85 year old man whom I met in a campground. Every day he would talk
about how he missed his children and grandchildren and that they would
seldom come to see him, only when they needed something. It got results.
Thank you and please make it available."
"This is wonderful and should be on video
for every Health Care Aide worker to view. As a HCA, and the daughter of
an aging parent living in assisted living it was most meaningful."
"My wife and I are in our 50's and I had
sent all my children this e-mail as well as to all my nephews and nieces
who enjoyed it and have taken a step back and refocus on the approach to
all and any seniors they came in contact with. We need this back."
"This is such a beautiful and TIMELY
message for my family - I would appreciate if you could let me know when I
can share it with them."
"I have read the many responses to your
music video regarding parents wish. I cannot add anything new. Many of the
comments could have been my response."
"A very poignant and touching slideshow,
and oh so true, I am sure most people can relate to it."
"I have watched the Parent's Wish web
site over and over again and have sent it to my children to explain to
them my feelings which are so aptly portrayed in the slideshow. Please put
it back on because it is so well done and has, I believe, touched many, my
family included."
"Please email me when the Parent's Wish
is available again it was straight from the heart."
"I agree with many of the comments I
read. It should be seen by every person, young or old."
"I lost my Dad, Mother, Brother and
Mother-in-law in a fifteen month period, following a six year time of
caring for them. How I wish I had seen "Parent's Wish" before this very
difficult and sad time in my life. It is one of the best e-mails I ever
received, and I believe you are doing a great service for the elderly and
those that will be caring for them. I experienced comfort for the things I
did right, and sadness where I failed when viewing it."
"How can you stop something so
beautiful."
"This is so touching and I want to send
it to my son's before it is too late."
"This beautiful thing belongs to the
ages. It is in a class all of its own and Josh Groban is the glue. Please
don't let us down or if nothing else make it available in some manner. It
brings the old and young together in mind and soul. UNFORGETTABLE."
"It is one of the most beautiful things I
have ever seen/heard."
"Please advise me when this will be
available again. I'm sure I can use it. My husband had a stroke 18 months
ago and I am reading books to help me understand his condition."
"I have just placed my mother in
an assisted living home due to dementia and we could no longer care for her at
home.. Everything in this slide show we have dealt with and are still dealing
with. It both gave me comfort and guilt as I was not seeing my mom's pain
through her eyes. This slide show helped me to see what she is going through and
trying to communicate to us."
"My brother sent us this link
knowing that we would appreciate the music and pictures because of our time with
our mother. Unfortunately, we have joined a long list of those who line-up either to
see and hear it for the first time or who want to see and hear it again. Please
notify us when it becomes available."
"Thank you for touching so many
lives with your message."
"My mother is on hospice and it
really touched my heart."
"I have a lot of family who work
in nursing homes and they would love to see it!"
"It is very helpful to me. My
spouse has dementia and I sent it to my children and his daughter. It is
beautiful."

of wisdom and the reality of the message being conveyed."

hopefully shine a little light on certain individuals who would benefit the most
from viewing this very THOUGHT PROVOKING, COMPASSIONATE, AND WELL COMPOSED
piece."

truly captures that the personhood of the resident needs to be first and
foremost always."
"Most emails don’t have tremendous worth, but this one is done
so well and applies to everyone – no matter what stage of life you’re in. No one
is immune to the aging process – in themselves, or in their loved ones. Please
get this back up and running! It’s a perfect way to get an important message
across, to yourself, as you deal with aging parents, etc., or for your own
children who don’t have a clue what aging parents feel and their ultimate wish."
"I want to show this to the people I orientate in the nursing
home and the student nurse assistants I teach. It is wonderful, gives me more
understanding of my aging parent."
"I absolutely must see this again. I have taken care of aging
parents, and this put everything into perspective."
"I would really love to have a copy of "The
Parent's Wish",
seeing that I am so close. It is truly my wish."
"I think this is the most beautiful e-mail I have ever
received!!! Since my father is now living with us, because of illness,
it meant so very much more. I had sent this to all of my children but some of
them, including friends, were unable to open it. I pray that you will be able

it to give a copy to my children and grandchildren!"

complain about it's taking too much space. When you consider all the
trash that is sent and the amount of space it takes, it makes you
wonder where people's priorities are."
"Absolutely the most powerful e-mail

I knew what the slide show was about, (I am a totally blind person), I
