FEEDBACKS - PART 8
November 10, 2006
"I think it was
beautiful. I would only change one thing…sign it your loving parent as
nowadays there are so many divorced parents, the child may feel
awkward."
"I viewed this slide
show at a seminar that was covering falls, behaviors and pain the
nursing home setting. I have been a nurse in long term care for 11
years. This show was incredible!! I will show this to my staff that
take care of mid to late stage dementia. I'm sure it will touch their
hearts as it has mine. Thank You very much for reminding me why I'm in
the field I am. AS"
"This is so
wonderful. Thank you so much. It would be really nice if there was a
choice of just 'mom' or 'dad' in the event, as in my case, it would be
just from 'mom', but I am going to send it on anyway because of the
beautiful message shared between generation."
"As a parent and
grandparent who has had two parents live in our home until their time
to go, this song and message has brought beautiful memories and
thoughts of our own mortality. I have never been so overwhelmed as
with the inspiration and thoughtfulness of this message. May GOD bless
you."
"EXCELLENT! Now, make
one with the Bett Midler song 'Wind Beneath My Wings' Keep 'em
coming."
"This was one of the
finest presentations that my Husband and I have ever seen. It sure
brought tears to both of us. Thank you...Bud and Shirley"
"The music and the
sentiment were truly beautiful but I wish there were more mothers in
the pictures. They are all men. We mothers did a lot in the raising of
our children too."
"My husband and I
manage a retirement facility where we live on site. There are days we
are on duty 24 hours a day. Your web site brought me to tears and gave
me the inspiration to keep on giving. This generation needs so little,
but they need that 'little' so very much. I hope your site
inspires the adult children to visit, send little notes and even
flowers. We see the joy when the children do this for their parents;
we see the deep sadness when there is little or no contact. This truly
is the greatest generation."
November 9, 2006
"This makes me think
of my younger sister who lived with my mother. She did all those
things with and for Mom. God Bless her heart. Judy"
"I don't even know
where to start. My mom died in 2004 and my dad has been on a downhill
slide since. My world is consumed with his care and trying to give him
reasons to continue to live. I'm not sure I've ever had such an
exhausting job as trying to keep his spirits up. I feel so lost and
sometimes selfish in thinking does anybody out there care about me??
What a reality check. I can't express how much meaning there is in the
beautifully written/composed video. Thanks for the reminder! God Bless
You!!"
"This is the most
wonderful piece I have seen come along in a very long time."
"It made me cry and
miss my mom so much! Thank-you, I will read this often. R Nichols"
"Oh, my God, I am
balling my eyes out! This is the most beautiful tribute to a parent
that I have ever seen and heard. The song performance, tune and words
synchronize to carry you away on an emotional roller-coaster. Be
prepared to laugh and cry."
"I just wanted to say
that this poem was very beautiful words could not explain. Thanks so
much."
"My Mother will soon
be 101 years of age. At the age of 100 she went into a Senior Home and
the moment she entered the doors she had a smile on her face and it
has remained there to this day. She couldn't be happier. She is
treated extremely well and joins in all the activities that she can
manage. Although she can no longer walk, she manages to get all around
the building in her wheelchair. She has made a lot of new friends and
at least one member of the family is there to visit each day. We are
so blessed that she is happy and content to be at the Home."
"This is beautiful! I
went through this valley with my Mother. I cried and prayed as I
viewed it and found myself replaying it. Thank you for sharing this
with the World. This would be an excellent piece to represent the
elderly protection and caregiver's support groups. Please look into
putting it on TV in the form of a public service add. What you have
expressed I had to learn as I went through each day. This could help
others who haven't had to become the parent of their parents yet. It
would make it easier on both the parents and the children when the
time comes. I had to learn as we went along and was frustrated on many
occasions. Finally I realized that all my Mom wanted, though she would
never ask, was for me to stay with her, do things together like we did
when I was the child and love her unconditionally. Nancy Peterson"
"I have never seen
anything like your video. Awesome!! You did a fantastic job, you
touched all bases. I wish everyone in the world could see it .The
entire arrangement was beautifully done. I cried and I cry everyday I
look at it. My mother is 88 and lives with me. I can't imagine my life
without my mother in it. I am 61. I know I will one day have to face
my mother passing. Your video helped me understand and accept. I sent
this video to my children. It tells them what I have wanted to say,
but couldn't find the words. Again bless you for putting this video
together. C. Joseph"
"Parents' Wish is so
beautifully done."
"I just received this
from a friend and found it very powerful."
November 8, 2006
"What a timely
e-mail. My wife and I have my 88 year old mother living with us now. I
will save this and watch it when I need a little inspiration."
"I sat here in tears
as I watched this beautiful video. Thank you for a job well done and
please let me know as soon as a CD is available."
"This is beautiful
and powerful. My 2 younger brothers and I lost our mother as teenagers
to breast cancer. Although she was only 41 years old, she was able to
teach us so much that we still reflect on to this day. This piece is
even more powerful to me today as our father who has always 'been
there' for the 3 of us is struggling with the early stages of
Alzheimer’s disease. Thank you and God bless, Carolyn"
"I was moved to tears
when a friend sent this to me. I lost my husband June 29th of this
year and we had gone to care for his aging mom who had declined in
health and memory over past year. I am now her sole family and
provider and this has helped to jog me back into the present and made
the bad days so much better and so much easier for me to see her needs
and faults when I must admit on some days I felt like I couldn't do it
anymore. When some of those demanding days strikes, I just come in
here and watch this over and over. My thanks to you for publishing
this article and my thanks to my friend for knowing what I needed when
I needed it most. Betty Johnson, Calif."
"A very heart
touching presentation that realizes something that were in our minds
but not was the part of our conscious. Thanx for realizing the facts.
Afifa Pakistan"
"My Mother passed
away in 2005, but I still remember her and miss her so much, that in
my mind I can't accept that she's gone. She was diagnosed with cancer
in pancreas. We knew how she fought to survived to be with us, but
death taken her from us. Sometimes when I'm alone I catch myself
remembering her, she was only 56."
November 7, 2006
"You and your
associates have done a fantastic job on this. I believe three
different friends have sent this powerful article to me. Each time I
view this I am amazed at the feeling I get. Thank you for a job well
done."
"Absolutely
beautiful! Thank you. Sharon Crookshank, Des Moines, IA"
"I have saved the
email received form a friend and sent it to all my friends and family
members. At least once a week I turn it on and sit and cry. It is sort
of a catharsis for me. I love it. I also copied each picture and have
it in a special folder."
"I would like to say
how touching this presentation is. I was sitting here feeling a little
sorry for myself because I am in the process of trying to raise money
to do an adult day care for the elderly with Alzheimer's. On the same
site will be a child day care so that the elders will have
opportunities to have shared activities together with the children.
This presentation has given me the determination to continue to
persevere and establish that which I have such a passion for. Both of
my grandmothers had Alzheimer's prior to their deaths. Thank you for
making such an inspiring presentation."
"What beautiful
thoughts and a wonderful web page. Thank you."
"I dreaded the
thought of losing my parents my whole life. I physically took care of
them for two years in their home and then for almost another year
when, by their choice due to health issues, they finally had to go to
an assisted living facility. How painful it was when I lost them a day
apart! As I read each screen of the story, I realized I did do my best
for them just from instinct, which is a blessing I will always be
grateful for. Yes, I cried when I read the screens, and because I love
the song, it made it even more poignant. My daughters and I miss them
so much. How I wish I could have one more day with them. Thank you for
the beautiful tribute!"
"It made me cry."
"This was a wonderful
video from a person who has always been very active and for the most
part the bread winner. Now that I am getting older it is very hard for
me to continue to work and help everyone--they all still need me and I
am starting to feel very useless, as if my life had been lived for no
reason. This video helped lift my spirits to get back out there and
work as if I am as good as I have ever been. Thanks."
"I join the millions
to say how beautifully touching this video is and how meaningful it is
as it says everything that is in our hearts and that I saw in taking
care of my own parents and their hearts! Thank you so so so much. From
Vermont"
"Thanks for the
inspiration and my God bless the Author we were really touch.."
"Heart touching and
made me cry,,,,,,,, hope I would live up to their expectations soon!"
"I absolutely loved
it. So true and so well presented. Loved the song you used as
background. All was great!"
November 6, 2006
"I lost my Dad four
years ago. I miss him more than anything in the world. This was very
touching. If there is someone out there that has lost a parent and
doesn't cry when they watch this video, I would have to say they are a
very cold hearted person."
"I was touched so
much by the video, I just hope that this could be put into a VCD
compilation and can be distributed for viewing. More power and my God
Bless the author. It was really a touching movie."
"This is a beautiful
tribute to parents and children. My Dad died just two Christmases ago,
and I still miss him."
"I am a nurse and
have been for 15 years and this is so touching. I tell my grown
children to take good care of me when I get older and they just laugh.
I have sent this to each of them and my response from them is just
wonderful. They now understand. Thank you from the bottom of my heart
for such a good view for all to understand what it is to get older and
to understand the steps we may or may not go through. Linda G.
Florida"
"What an inspiring
message, my Mom is 92 and living with me, sometimes we all need a
reminder."
"Thank you. The slide
show, the words and the song touched my heart as a dear friend is
suffering from Alzheimer's and I watch her struggling to get words out
on the many days I visit her. God bless you all for this. Jane Harrow.
Ontario"
"When I received this
e-mail and I listened the first time I was awed. Then I played it
several more times becoming more emotional with each time it played. I
am a Geriatric nurse and really feel all of our staff needs to see
this. It puts the care giving role in perspective. What a wonderful
way to honor our elders contributions no matter if they are your
parent or not. Thank you for this. Jodi R.N."
November 5, 2006
"l am 72, my husband
75 ~ never have l been so proud of my daughter as l was a few days ago
when she called and asked us to read this. l feel she was giving us a
message by letting us know we never have to worry, she'll always be
there for us, That's not only comforting but assuring. CHERYL"
"There was a complete
bias in favor of fathers in this piece. The absence of pictures of
mothers and daughters made me want to cry. Mine died when I was
seventeen. She was the one who was always there for us. The wish I
have is that I could have seen her grow old and taken care of her, as
she did for us."
[Webmaster's note:
Please read our FAQ for the reason why there are
more father's pictures in the slideshow.]
"I was really moved
by this music and those words. Thank you for this beautiful tribute to
our parents!!!"
"You couldn't have
produced a more heart stirring video of the life cycle and
responsibilities that pass from parents to children. I wish more of
our families could realize what this video says, maybe our elder
abandonment and abuse would decline drastically."
"This is so beautiful
and needs to be seen by people of all ages so that when they are
called to be there for their parents they will remember and do what
needs to be done. Blessings to you."
November 4, 2006
"Awesome! Thanks for
sharing this very impressive and realistic presentation that really
touched our hearts and mind. Good idea, good message, appropriate
music, good deeds. All your efforts was very much appreciated. God
bless you all. lil-NZ"
"I just sent this to
my son, who is now 15, and thinks I will be here forever. I hope it
will help him see that everything I have done for him and continue to
do for him is from my heart and so that I might possibly protect him
from some things he need not experience. Even though I am only 45 I
have been very ill and everyday I need more help from my family, so I
hope that this helps him understand. I started crying as I watched
this video and as I write this email I am still crying. Please
continue to make this available and everybody who sees it please send
it on to as many people as you can, especially your family members.
GOD BLESS EVERYONE !!!!!!!!!!!!"
"THIS is beautiful. I
love that song and the pictures speak volumes Thank you so much and
God Bless. Virginia"
"Thank you for
putting together the words I have so often wanted to say to my
daughter."
"This video touched
me in a very special way! It made me cry knowing the struggles that
our parents go through and the respect that the elderly DESERVE! They
have been through so much more than we have, and we can learn so much
from them. Give your elderly loved one a loving touch and tell them
you love them and that they can count on YOU! God Bless all of them!
They can for sure count on me! It is surprising that the roles
reverse, they take care of us when we are learning and we take care of
them when they loose ground. My mom just recently went through ovarian
cancer and was nearly to the no return stage when it was diagnosed. I
brought her to my home and took care of her through it all and it gave
me so much to know that I took care of her during a very trying time.
I would do anything for my mom....she has always been there for me and
I will always be there for her!!!!!!! I lost my dad 20 years ago and
miss him so much! Thank you for a very touching video, I just wish
there were more like this one out there, God Bless You!"
"Thank you and God
bless you. You have blessed me. I am 74 years, and my Mom is 98 years.
Some of the frailties shown here are making their appearance in her
daily life, BUT, Mom still sketches and paints. She was a loving
daughter, wife and mother who always had the heart and ability of an
artist, but life interfered and she had to begin working at 13.
She became a beautician at 47 and finally took art lessons on retiring
at 65 - her oil paintings, water colors and Christmas ornaments are
legend. I am honored and blessed to have her and be able to care for
her."
"Quit looking for
dark, hidden meanings and just take if at face value for what it is...
a BEAUTIFUL and gentle reminder that love, care, support and patience
are needed all through life but especially at the beginning and end."
November 3, 2006
"My Dad just died a
few months ago and my Mom is in the hospital and is not doing very
good - I wanted them with me - and I miss them very much."
"Very touching
presentation, but one thing struck me as the film neared its end: IF
my husband and I haven't already taught our children enough about love
and caring to be understanding of our old age and upcoming deaths,
it's too late. Sincerely, Joanne"
"I can only
re-iterate what I have ready in your feedback section. This amazing
display of unconditional love touched my heart so deeply. My mother
was recently diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease. I read and re-read
this wonderful tribute to parents and want to be and remain so caring
for my parents in their latter years. Thank you and the Lord bless you
always."
"My Mother has had
Alzheimer's for almost 10 years. I took care of her in my home for
three of those years. She is now is a wonderful care facility.
Everyone should see this. It is so hard to remember to be patient when
they are telling you for the 2nd, 3rd or even 20th time something that
is important to them, but you have already heard so many times in
previous days. It is so hard to remember that they don't know how
frustrated you are. This truly tells it exactly how it is. We should
all remember that every one of us who is fortunate enough to live a
long life will need some kind of help some day. And hopefully, the
person who is there for us will know the things that you have so
graciously put together here in a Parents' Wish."
"I was very moved by
the video. I cried, I laughed. I have always respected the senior
generation and I hope the younger generations will have as much
respect if not more for their elders. I am going to save this video to
show my 2 daughters. Thank you very, very much for the video."
"I lost my parents 6
months apart, they have been gone for 12 years. Even though they were
both mobile until the end, I was brought to tears with your video. My
mother-in-law was a definite challenge with repeating herself, telling
stories over and over! I would often say to hear, do you have to tell
that story again? I was cruel to her in that manner. How beautiful
this tribute is to all of our parents, grandparents. I am passing this
onto my children. Thank you for your thought provoking video."
"As a parent and
grandparent, this message really hit home. My mother is 82 years young
and still living on her own; however, she lost the sight in one of her
eyes recently and walks a little slower. She often repeats herself and
I have to remind myself to be more patient. My son has three young
children and seems to have little time for me. I am definitely sending
this message to him! Thanks for the time and effort that went into
this lovely message."
"As I watched your
slideshow I cried. My dad is in bad health, he just got out of the
hospital last week. He is 69 he has had 4 heart attacks, heart
failure, brain surgery. I know he want to die but I'm so selfish I
want him to stay 4-ever. Thanks so much for the work u do, it sure hit
my heart very hard. GOD BLESS YOU."
"Many thanks for such
a insightful message. We should read more things like this. Beautiful
message and beautifully done - and yes, I cried. Thank you."
November 2, 2006
"I cried when I saw
this video. It was touching and moving... it just wants me to stay
behind my mom or my grandparents all along...very good web.."
"I just wanted you to
know that I really needed that. I have my Father living with me and he
is 77 and losing his memory, hearing, etc.. I really needed that.
Thank you!"
"Are you advocating
euthanasia? That was the message I got."
[Webmaster's note:
Please read item 8 of our FAQ for the answer to
your question.]
"That was absolutely
beautiful. I am sending this to a lot of friends and family because it
is something we all need to be reminded of. It brought tears to my
eyes with my father already gone for five years and a Mom 81 ½ years
old. Thank you for reminding me of how we all should be treating them
as I do and did treat them this way. God bless you."
November 1, 2006
"I just received the
flash video Parents' Wish from my parents. I think this is a wonderful
video and will be sharing it with my co-workers and other in our
community. Thank you for this wonderful, poignant reminder of
unconditional love."
"I guess it’s hard
for me to understand why some people don’t like or are offended by
your tribute. My parents were strict and I know we don’t need to be
reminded of how to care for our own parents, but take this video as it
is, a tribute to the people who brought you into this world. My father
now has been diagnosed with a disease called MDS which apparently is a
disease that doesn’t let your bone marrow manufacture viable blood
cells and has no cure. I guess it’s a step down from leukemia. My
mother has been gone about 8 years now. He is now experiencing some of
the things that are mentioned in your video and it is hard to watch
someone you love go through some of these things. Someone who 6 months
ago was your go to person when you were stranded on the highway or
needed a sitter in a pinch. Thank You for the touching tribute and God
Bless."
"If I may say this
one of the best slideshows that I have watched and it is very touching
and I showed some of my friends this and they thought this was
incredible. They were amazed that someone that could do something so
cool like this would not want to be known for it but I really think
was a good slideshow to watch and I will always remember it because my
boyfriend sent me something like this and it was amazing. But this is
just one of the coolest things I have watched in my 11 years of
living."
"Thank you. It brought
tears to my eyes. When we were young we don't think about how we may
be perceived by those older than ourselves. I pray I'm more softer and
loving now. Yesteryear I was in to much of a hurry to grow up. Again
thank you for this blessing. Monica Grothe"
October 31, 2006
"Enjoyed watching
this presentation and fully agree with the sentiments. Can't show it
to my parents anymore, they have passed on and my daughter will tell
us: Well, you aren't quite there yet!! A comment though on the
presentation: When including different sized pictures in a slide show
like that, it is essential to ensure that the aspect ratio of the
various pictures remains locked, so they do not get distorted -
horizontally or vertically. This has really distracted from an
otherwise well made production. Good luck and I hope you can find a
way to do that!"
[Webmaster's note:
Thanks for the suggestion. If you click however on the option NORMAL
VIEW while the video is playing, the pictures will be shown in their
proportionate size]
"I LOVE Josh Groban's
voice and song! But why do you show TEN pictures of men, and only ONE
of a woman? Please re-do it with 6 pictures of men and 5 of women so
it would be almost even. Don't women get old too? (Wouldn't want
more women pictures than men pictures, would we?) Thanks."
[Webmaster's note:
replacing the photographs is in our to-do list.]
"I work in a nursing
home and care for the elderly directly. This was very moving as I see
this on a daily basis. To everyone.... please listen carefully to the
elderly... they know.. they have lived and they are beautiful."
"This is the most
beautiful pictorial slide show (with music and lyrics to match) that I
have ever seen. I will certainly send this to my children, nieces and
nephews, as well as all my friends, too, because it brings home to
each and every one of us the truth about growing old and how we should
show kindness, respect and compassion to the elderly and help them to
live out their lives with dignity. Thank you for putting this up on
your web site and reminding us of how it will feel when our youngsters
grow old and would like to be treated. God bless you for sharing this
awesome page. Norma Smith Tampa, FL"
"It is an awesome
video!"
"This was the most
poignant message of unconditional love I have ever viewed. It truly
enhanced my understanding of a parent whose advanced age and
limitations were baffling the entire family. I e-mailed parent's wish
to ten friends. Every last one replied and thank me for the e-mail.
Several said they cried or it brought tears to their eyes. We have a
tendency to forget where we came from or how we started our life. This
is a strong reminder of our own future as we age. Thank you, Sue
Brett"
"Patience and love
are what we need in this crazy world. We need to realize that family
is the most important connection we have, other than god. Take care of
our parents, don't throw them to the wolves at the hospice. The golden
rule: Do unto others as you would have done to you. Thanks for the
beautiful slideshow!!! The Roll family"
"I just viewed the
slideshow, and what a beautiful, touching way to send a message... I
felt like Oprah should know about this loving gesture. Thank you and
all the best to you. The Roll family. What we resist---persists!!!
Anon."
"It's really touching
to watch. The message is quite ironic but true. Children love thy
parents while they are still alive. Enjoy their company that when
their gone you will be able to cherish the memory. More power to our
parents and may God bless the people who put this site up."
"I just saw this
video and brought so many memories back with my mom and dad. I miss
them so much and I know in taking care of them they knew they were
loved and appreciated up to the day each of them died, by all six of
their kids who were close to them. Thank you for the reminder of love
and dignity in the dying process, for my mom and dad died with dignity
and SO MUCH LOVE!!"
"This was absolutely
beautiful. The music was very fitting and went right along with the
pictures. I won't be able to send it to my children because I raised
them alone and it hurts them to see a Father with their children,
while was absent. Maybe you could make a video with a single parent
with the child."
[Webmaster's note: A
Single Parent version of the slideshow can be played from our main
website at: http://parentswish.com.)
"Parents' Wish just
made me appreciate my 5 wonderful grandsons even more. Today is the
4th anniversary of the death of a woman that taught me to 'RISE UP',
may Aunt Ednah. Yes, I miss her and I think if it were not for her I
would be roaming the streets a total punk. She was a woman that had
authority in her voice yet there was love at the same time. She taught
me right from wrong. Yes, my parents taught me all that also, but,
there was just something in Aunt Ednah that made it worth even more.
Once again Thank you for Parents' Wish and I am going to book mark
this so that when I want to remember all the wonderful things that not
only my parents but also Aunt Ednah did, I can got there, sit back,
relax and listen and dream of better days".
October 30, 2006
"It is great and the
slide presentation is exceptional."
"PARENTS WISH is ever
so true. Brought back many memories to me. Children, enjoy your
parents all that you can and spend as much time with them as you can.
You do not know when the Lord is going to call them home. I wish so
often I could have my parents back. Love them, care for them, honor
them, and give them your best as they did for you. Thank you for
making this tape and I sent it to everyone I knew as the tears fell
and remembering. Thanks. Joanna Wakefield"
"This was the most
inspiring message that could be sent out to anyone, child, or parent.
I have had health issues already in my life that were very devastating
and I needed help from my children. I am only 45, and my daughters,
especially my oldest has been a Godsend throughout my issues. Its
heart wrenching to think what people go through on both ends of the
spectrum. Hopefully this will give understanding to those who really
are clueless in their heart to how it feels to be helpless before its
to late. It doesn't matter how you were raised or not it has to do
with the age old scripture, 'Do unto others as you would have them
do unto you,'. I don't think this has in any way been
disrespectful, if you have a heart, how could it be?"
"Thank you so very
much for this moving movie. I am still teary eyed from watching it's
heartfelt message that is so appropriate for my generation now. I am
68 and watching my hubby go through some of what this show portrays in
his late 70's. God bless you. Gloria Ericsen, Orlando, FL."
"I thank the creator
of this treasured message. It will be saved and sent to my children
and some loved ones."
"This is the most
beautiful thing I have ever seen online. It took me a while to stop
crying, but it was well worth it. My Dad died 20 years ago, and my
Mother just died this July. Every picture, every word written and
every word of the song reminded me of them both. I hope my kids will
be as touched by it as I am. Thank you so much."
"It is a beautiful
message."
October 29, 2006
"Many thanks for a
fine and touching show. Elaine Suhre"
"What a sad, sad
video. I can not believe how preachy the whole thing sounded. Luckily
I had great parents who did the things that are stated in this video,
read to me, etc. In turn, I love it when I can sit and listen to my
Mother tell me the same story for the third time, help her paint her
porch or wash her windows. The time that I have been able to spend
with my Father who has Alzheimer's is extremely precious to me,
whether it is cleaning him up or reading him poetry. Unfortunately,
some of the parents who are sending out this video probably did not do
such a great job parenting, or maybe their children are giving them
time, etc. but it's just never enough or just have ungrateful
children. Whatever the reason they feel the need to resort to such an
email I think they need to stop and have a good, open 'one and one'
talk with their children. After that they need lovingly to accept the
help their children do give them, thank them for it, and stop the
controlling guilt trips. Stacy Sims"
"I just lost my
father last year (he was my last surviving parent), he was 92. I would
like to think that he died with dignity and respect, and not a day
goes by that I don't miss him. At 55 I wonder who will care for me,
will my children love me enough to give me what your video and song
indicate? I don't know! Your whole video is beautiful and moves the
soul of anyone who has parented. I hope it moves their children as
well. Sharon Cole Moose Jaw, SASK Canada"
"I think its one of
the most touching and true forwards I have ever received and have sent
it to both my children, with the hope that 'someday' they will
understand. I have been a single mom, raised two wonderful children,
BUT I am ALWAYS misunderstood. My EX husband is Psychnophrenic, an
alcoholic and a drug addict, so I think it says it all. If this ever
changes the way my children think/feel I will be ever grateful to
you."

"What a powerful
presentation! My grandmother will be 101 on Nov. 2, 2006. She is
currently in a nursing home, and my mother is there with her mom
everyday. I would love to share this with my mom and grandmother plus
the nurses at the nursing home. Please notify me if this becomes
available on CD. Thanks for sharing such a heartwarming and emotional
tribute to so many families."
"Thanks for this ...
as I was awe-inspired by it ... and cried a lot."
"Very though
provoking. My dad just passed away very suddenly a few months ago. Ecc
12:1"
"Wow.. this is
exactly what we are going through right now with our ageing mom of 77.
I think it is wonderful. You make so many important points like
allowing them time to think and not rushing in to finish their
sentence and not shaming them if they do not want to take a shower.
Just helping them and loving them. That is the most important thing!
Thank you for sharing this with us."

"Parent's Wish was
one of the most beautiful e-mails I have received. I cried through the
whole thing. A very true thing to read."
"This is so beautiful
that I cried all 4 times I played it! Then sent it on to 31 of my
friends and relatives. Bravo for who ever put this together!!! My only
question is... Where are the women? Thank you, Terri."
"This was beautifully
done, although it made me cry. My mom passed away recently, having
suffered from dementia and cancer. She, too, repeated herself time and
time again and didn't want to eat. This piece helps the viewer to
understand the emotions and feelings experienced by the 'parent'
and encourages the patience and love that is so desperately needed.
Josh Groban's song, which happens to be one of my very favorites, was
a perfect background for these wonderful sentiments. Thank you for
sharing this with the world. Denise"
"This so terribly
heart wrenching to watch, it is saying goodbye slowly. As a parent we
should never expect our children to bear the suffering of our aging.
Let it happen as it does and be strong, it won't be long and it will
be all over."
"How moving. Both of
my husband's parents are in a local nursing home. Everyday, we discuss
how sad we are that we are not able to have them at home to care for
them. This moved me so much. Thank you for your hard work to keep it
going. EVERYONE needs to see this. Dovie Goodnight"
"My Mother passed
away before I seen this email. After seeing it, it made understand
some of the things my mother was saying to me at that time. The one
scene I have a real hard time with is about wanting to die! My Mother
would say this constantly, but my not wanting her to go I kept
telling her no, I did not want her to go. I understand now what she
meant by her saying that. She was tired and wanted to go home to GOD.
The day before she died I told her it was okay to go. She passed away
early the next morning. I have sent this to several people, I feel
this will help them in their situations. This is one of the best
emails I have ever seen. I also like Josh Groban’s music. I wish I
would have thought about using this for my Mothers memorial service."
"I have to admit this
slideshow brought me to tears. It's beautiful and inspirational. My
oldest daughter sent it to me. It's been very hard for me and my
children. I have my Dad who is 85 years old and dying in a nursing
home. It's been so hard the last six weeks watching him wasting away.
When he says he wants to die I understand why. You just get to a point
in your life when you know it's time to go home. This is why we're
always there to be with him, until that last day. Reflecting on how
they were always there for us. Thank you for opening the eyes of so
many people, who should know the meaning of 'Honor thy Father and
Thy Mother'. God Bless. M.G., N.Y."
"Want you to know
that my husband and I both have elderly fathers with whom we love very
much and when we received this from a friend we were touched to the
point of crying. This is the most beautiful email we have ever
received and one we will keep on our computer forever to remind us how
very precious they are to us. We have both lost our mothers within the
last few years and it has been very hard on us. We watch the video
from time to time and it reminds us of just how important to adhere to
the words in it. Thank you for such a wonderful, sensitive and
beautiful video. We have passed it on to everyone we know that have
elderly parents (which is quite a few). They have all told us how
touching it is."
"I am a nurse's aide
in an Alzheimer's facility. This is a perfect example of what I see
everyday and the pressure of the elderly when they have those moments
of lost memory or simply of the day to day tasks they need to do to
survive. I cried when I watched this video. I think everyone should
see it all over the world. I've already told my co-workers about your
website."
"Thank you so much
for this beautiful slideshow. My mother passes away recently and I
cried during the whole slideshow. She had lived with my husband and I
for 5 years before having a stroke and entering a nearby nursing home
3 years ago. I visited her twice a day and did her laundry and many of
the things mentioned in the slideshow and it brought back so many
wonderful memories. I will be passing this slideshow on to everyone I
know as it is one of the nicest I have ever seen."
October 26, 2006
"I would like you to
know that I loved the words of a Parents' Wish..... It is how I feel
many days. Thank You again. Diane :-)"
"I enjoyed the
opportunity to view this and find it generally very nice however I
wish it did not say 'Mom and Dad' at the end – it would be much
more usable if that part were deleted. The concept of 'family'
is much broader in the U.S. and around the world. Becky"
"I was very moved
with what I just watched and I sent it to as many people as I could. I
can't tell you how I feel my heart was overjoyed. I will keep it going
to everyone I know. Thank you again."
"This was so moving
and touching. It brought tears to my eyes and really made me think
about the circle of life. Thank you for creating this and sharing it
with those that have the opportunity to view it."
"I enjoyed my first
viewing of Parents' Wish. It brought tears to my eyes and had me
thinking about my parents (who are both now deceased). I sent it
immediately to my daughter who is an adult and will wait awhile to
sent it to my son who is a young teenager and might not understand it
at this time. I also love the background music, it is so appropriate"
October 25, 2006
"Thank you for this
wonderful page. I enjoyed viewing it. My mother is 72 years young. As
a young mother she gave us her best. Now it is my turn to take care of
her and I will do it with pride and joy because she is my 'mama'."
"I volunteer at
Pinewood Court, a long-term care home in Thunder Bay, ON. At a Family
Council meeting, I read the poem. People smile and some tears were
shed."
"This is so
beautiful. My husband and I are in our 70's and are beginning to feel
a few aches and pains of living. God has blessed us so much. We have 5
loving children, 6 wonderful grand children and 2 and one on the way
great grand children. I hope they will all take your advice when we
get to that point. Thanks, The Farmer's"
"As the Coordinator
of the Long Term Care Ombudsman Program in a county in up-state NY, I
wish that Parents' Wish was mandatory viewing for all staff of long
term care facilities. I see countless instances where the staff of
these facilities rush the frail, elderly residents to complete
activities of daily living so that the staff can move on to other
things. Many staff do not take the extra minute or so that it takes to
talk with a resident or comfort them when they are feeling alone and
afraid. Thank you for reminding us all that life is an endless circle,
and what goes around comes around."
"A colleague sent
this to me, viewing this was a WOW experience to start out my day. I
am blessing…thank you and I look forward to the CD. Randy Walden, CSA"
"I must say there are
times I don't listen all the way though some of the e-mails I receive
but this one is so beautiful. Plus I love Josh. Very touching. I sent
it to just about everyone in my address book. Thanks Ginny Three
Rivers, MI"
"We feel that it
touches on everything that our trained nurses have to deal with and it
expresses the message in a most tactful way that it's hard not to
understand what this person has to go through with the family on this
very hard journey."
"Thank you to all
those who had any part in making this. It was beautiful. I have lost
both my parents in the past 3 years, and this brought tears to my
eyes. I feel like is was sent from heaven to me."
"Your presentation is
truly wonderful and comforting for many. Although my mom is in
relatively good health right now, I can see a need for your
inspiration sometime in the future."
October 24, 2006
"My 12 year old son
and I have always loved the song by Josh Groban, and it suits
perfectly with this reminder of loving and caring for our parents and
grandparents. We sometimes forget how important they are to us until
they're gone. I lost my dad, mom and stepdad. Everyday I wish they
were still here to give me the chance to apologize for anything I may
have said or done, that I shouldn't have, or just to give them a hug
and say 'I love you' or 'Thank-You' for being my
parents. One thing is for sure, I will never forget them and they will
always be with me. Thank you for helping us not to forget."
"Your words brought
tears to my eyes, but its the most beautiful reading I have ever read.
I am going to send it to my 3 children. I have MS and this says it
all. Thank you very much for sharing this with us."
"This tore me up!
Thank you, Thank you for a beautiful thought provoking urge to love
deeply! Live a Legacy! David Charleston"
"Thank you! That was
really beautiful. My mom had Alzheimer and we lost her eleven years
ago. I wish that I could have made it go away. My husband just retired
and God willing we will be able to age gracefully. His dad is up there
in life but so far he is healthy. GOD BLESS! Marcia"
"This really touched
my heart! I have listened to it many times. This was sent to me by a
minister friend that married my husband and me 38 years ago. My
husband, Lane, and I were married in his house in Largo, Florida. When
he sent me this link, his words were 'Sad, but True'. Yes, this
is sad, but so beautifully done! I am sending it on to many, one at a
time, because each of my friends need a different introduction to the
piece of art. Thanks from the bottom of my heart! Marilyn McCabe
Campbell"
"I am very glad you
shared this with so many people. My mother sent it to me not knowing
how much it meant to me. I take care of elderly people in a home and I
see so many of them with families that don’t come to visit and
families that come in and get frustrated and leave. It really hurts
them and me to see that. After I had seen this I sent it to work, and
everyone cried. I seriously think this is a good way of explaining how
the elderly feel and made me have a greater appreciation for them. All
everyone needs is a little bit of love and I think everyone in the
world should watch Parents' Wish. Thank you so much for what you have
shown to us."
"Like the parents in
your slide show, my parents were always there for me. I had the great
pleasure and privilege of caring for both my Mother and Dad, and also
my Mother-in-law, to the end of their earthly lives. There was a great
joy in knowing that when they left this life they entered into eternal
life with their Saviour. Romans 8:18 says, 'For I reckon that the
sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the
glory that shall be revealed in us.'"
October 23, 2006
"I don't always take time to open and read e-mails but I am so
thankful I did this one. It is truly a work of art. I have always
loved this song and it is truly a word from god when this ws written
and now put to background. I really want to express my deepest thanks
for allowing so many to experience this. Any one who has been around
an older person knows how this is a true reflection. My father-in-law
lived with us after the going home of my mother-in-law and he truly
wanted to go home and we understood why but tried to keep his time on
earth pleasant for him. I am only thankful he is now home and we are
beginning to experience a slow down of life. I like to not associate
life with the big if in it but to live as long as you can until doing
the work God has for you so you can experience true life after life.
Thank You for such a wonderful expression of love for older people."
"This
is so beautiful and I wanted to send it to my two sons, but I am a
single mom who raised her sons alone and I really wish there was a
version signed by a single parent (mom or dad because I realize there
are single fathers out there raising children also) so I could send
it. I do not feel comfortable sending one from mom and dad. Thank
you!"
"I read the Parents'
Wish which was sent to me by my cousin in California and I was really
touched. It brought tears to me eyes. You refer to a homage to dad and
a homage to mom in your web site. I was not able to find them and I
would really appreciate if you could send me a copy of each. Thank you
Maria"

"My
father age 84 has recently been diagnosed with lung cancer. Receiving
this has truly touched my heart. May God bless you and all the people
that you have touched through this website. Thank you very much."
"How wonderful to see
such a touching tribute. I sent this on to my children and
grandchildren and I sincerely hope they will keep every word in their
hearts for the future. Thank you so much. Biggest hugs from a loving
mum and grandmum."
"This past July, my
sister and I took our 89 year old grandmother into our home due to her
no longer being able to live alone. From as far back as we can
remember, our grandmother (who we affectionally call Big Mama) has
been such a pillar of strength for our family. We must admit, it has
been a challenge being responsible for her daily needs but we know
everything happens for a reason. This email helped me to remember how
blessed we are to now be able to take care of the person who took care
of us for so many years of her life. We have been lovingly given the
opportunity to return the favor."
"I was soooo touched
by this Parents Wish. You see my Mother had Dimenchia and I took care
of her and had to hold her hands to walk sometimes. I had to feed her
as she fed me. We owe our parents soooooo much I hope she is well in
heaven now and my Dad too cause I miss them very much."
October 22, 2006
"Absolutely, a gift
to millions of people. Thank you for sharing and I am going to share
this with our local Alzheimer Chapter in Toronto, Ontario Canada as I
feel that this and your work and dedication and Josh Groban’s sweet
music and lyrics deserve to be reached to others. I cried and smiled
throughout the whole movie. God bless you for your spirit and sharing
it with us who will never forget what our grandparents and parents did
for us. Thank you from the bottom of my heart."
"I know it made me
feel so sad to read all the words and listen to the music, but this is
truly something that needs to be said to all our young people. Thank
you so much."
"I loved this because
I could never find the words to use to tell my sons how I feel...Thank
you."
"My sister sent me a
link to a Parents' Wish - we have lost one parent 18 years ago but
still have our wonderful mother. I am also one of the primary
caregivers for my mother-in-law. It reminds us all that we need to
deal lovingly with our elderly parents - even though at times it is
difficult. Thanks for such a beautiful slideshow!"
October 21, 2006
"This was one of the
best emails I have ever received. My grandmother who helped raise me
died with Alzheimer's. I often felt like our roles had reversed and
been thrown back in time to when I was a child. However I was the
adult it was the woman I loved dearly who was acting as a child. It
was the memories of my childhood and how she cared so lovingly for me
that led me through this dark time. Those memories and my heart full
of love for my grandmother. It is the hardest thing I have ever
experienced in my life, watching someone that I loved so deeply just
fade away from me and then eventually die. The loneliness that I felt
at times when she could no longer speak to me and tell me what she
wanted or needed was so sad. But the worst was knowing there wasn't
anything that I thought I could do, or so I thought. The one thing I
could do and what she wanted me to do was simply to be there for her,
and I was."
"I cried when I read
this beautiful piece of work; enjoyed the music you had with it too. I
emailed my children and told them not to dare delete my message until
they read it.........thanks for sharing!"
"I have early onset
Alzheimer's and I shared this on an online support group that I have
and it has been a beautiful blessing to help caregivers to understand
what their loved one is going through and may be feeling, thank you so
much! Tracy"
"Thank you so much
for a very moving video and song. The message portrayed is very timely
and should not be looked at as demeaning to 'older' people but
rather as a way of expressing one’s self. I am soon to be 56 years old
and I hope and pray that my children are compassionate with not only
me but other seniors as well. Once again, I thank you, Frank."
"This is so
beautiful. I have an 83 year old mother who has macular degeneration
of the eyes. She just called for me to come over and look for
insurance policies. I am tired and was dreading to go over to the
house to do that for her. After seeing this website, it is an
inspiration for me to do what I must do for my mother. Thanks so much
for your inspiration. Yes, many times my mother questions being here
on earth so long with the handicaps of her sight. This is a natural
instinct of longevity. BBailey"
"Tomorrow marks the
14th anniversary of my dad's death. I still miss him every day, and
wish he were here. Thank you for creating this tribute to parents. I
have Josh Groban's CD, and will remember Parents' Wish each
time I hear this song. S.L.T., CT."
"I find this
manipulative and disgraceful. Should our older generations be treated
with respect and dignity? Absolutely. But on the basis of what they
did for us… after all some of them shamed and scolded their children
and they will reap what they have sowed… as will I. We shouldn’t tell
them to eat, because they know how much and often they need to? Except
that some don’t. Some older folks starve or wallow in their own mess
for days because they are not reminded to do it… I have seen it
happen. Love your parents. Honor them. Because they are human beings
made in the image of God… not because of what they have done."
"Thank you so much
for such an inspiring video. I want you to know that I sent it to each
of my four wonderful children and hope that they will send it on to
theirs. It brought tears to my eyes. 'WHitty' ~an "old-ager".... :)"
"I received this
'Parents' Wish' about 7 months ago and thought right away about my
father that I lost and the mother I still have left and how grateful I
am to still have her around. I am now in a long term care course and I
have shared this wish with my class mates and teacher and the response
so far as nothing but tears. I can think of no better response to the
wish then than, as it tells me that there families and clients will
totally benefit and the 'Parents' Wish' will carry on."
"I don't believe
anything has ever 'hit home' as completely as this beautiful
tribute to parents. I lost my Father 25 years ago when I was almost 40
and 'oh so busy with my life and job'. I wish I had spent more
time with him during his last months. Unfortunately that's a regret
I'll always have. My Mother is now 93 and suffering from COPD
(emphysema) and dementia. She is going through literally EVERY symptom
mentioned in your presentation. But this time I'm there... every step
of the way. I am so thankful to still have her and to be able to help
her as she helped me my entire life. The rewards are many ... her
beautiful smile when she looks at me, a kiss on the cheek when I do
the smallest thing for her, her 'I love you' just because she
does. Even though it's a very difficult time for us right now, it's
also a beautiful time because we're going through it together. I hope
you can understand just how much your video means to me. It definitely
touched my heart. Betty K."
October 20, 2006
"Touched me
deeply........Thank you AMG"
"The music chosen was
a perfect match, what an amazing artist he is, and the lyrics are so
engaging. These words need to be said, as young people must be
reminded of the effort and sacrifice and love that was given to them.
It was given freely, and nothing ever asked in return."
"This is absolutely
beautiful! I was so moved and hope that we all remember of the great
sacrifices our parents gave to keep us safe and fed. God Bless All!"
"Absolutely
beautiful! It brought tears to my eyes. Thank you!"
"This is just
beautiful. Thank you for sharing it."
"Excellent, the
background music just completes it. I had tears running down my face
as I read it. Once again thanks."
October 19, 2006
"This is so
wonderful. I cried all the way through it. I am hanging onto my child
by a thread from a very bad custody battle. Can you please send me the
words to A Mother's Wish? Thank you so much."
[Webmaster's note:
Please check item 10 of our
FAQ for the link to the Mother's wish wordings.]
"I am an instructor
of nurses and since I have found this, I have been playing it on our
first day of the long term care clinicals. It is so awesome."
"I received Parents'
Wish from my nephew. I felt privileged that he sent it to me. It has
been sixteen years that I lost my dad and just last year I lost my mom
and my brother. My mom was his grandmother and he honored her. His son
just had surgery for an injury so I am sure that many things are going
on in his mind. I have passed the half century mark and my daughters
have honored me. I feel very blessed. I had to shed some tears while
watching the video. Brought back memories and a mixture of emotions.

"This was so
beautiful and it brought me to tears, as l think of the times when l
lost patience with my Mom while caring for her before she passed. l
wish l had seen it sooner, but l am sending it to my sons in hopes
that they will understand when my time comes....so true, so true.
Thank you"
"This was the most
moving piece I have read in a long time. I was 'teary' eyed. It
made me think back to my childhood and my own experiences with my
beloved parents. Thank you for sharing these beautiful thoughts. Lynn
S."
"This is so
beautiful. In February we had to put our mother in a home. I visit her
everyday and I can see her fading away. I would love to have a copy of
this to send to my all my family members. God Bless"
"My mom has
Alzheimer’s and the first time I saw this it brought tears to my eyes.
I think after viewing this piece, a son or daughter of a person with
Alzheimer’s will react differently to his/her parent the next time an
inappropriate or wild behavior occurs. Thank you."
October 18, 2006
"Thank you for
this wonderful show. It says what it is so hard to say to our
children. It is slowly happening to my husband. God bless and may he
give the person who put this together more inspiration to do many
more."
"A lovely and
touching way to seek patience and understanding as parents ultimately
become childlike again as they age. For the most part, parents try to
do their best in raising their children… but are human and make
mistakes. For those who were not fortunate enough to have such
parents, this piece is like going shopping for a pair of gloves or
shoes, if it fits, keep it and take it with you. If it doesn’t, then
don’t bother with it. For me, it is a beautiful fit."
"Wow! This really hit
home with me as I have both parents in the nursing home right now.
What a beautiful piece! I would love to have a copy of this when it's
available. Thanks for sharing!"
"I was so deeply
touched as it came two weeks before my sons first anniversary of his
death. He was our only child and now we only have his 18 year old son,
to love and care for, hoping he will be there for us as we age. I knew
the time would come very soon when it would be necessary to find the
right words to discuss about his aging grandparents. This slideshow
couldn't have made it any easier for us as we will E-mail it to our
grandson soon. We are close and know that he wouldn't abandon us, but
it's more comforting to have that reassurance. Thank you all who were
responsible for putting this beautiful site together and most of all
for sharing it. I can only imagine how beautiful the slideshow is for
'Tribute to Dad.'
"This is so very
beautiful! It gave me an excuse to weep--about a lot of things that
this brought out. It was a cleansing, healing good old fashioned type
of cry, and I felt so refreshed and uplifted afterwards. Thank you so
much."
"Both of my parents are gone, but I
have forwarded this on to my children, who have children, in hopes
that when my time comes, they will understand the things I am starting
to go through. I have some very serious health problems, and I wish to
no end that they could understand that Mom isn't going to be around
for a LONG time, but that I love them tremendously, and hope that in
this beautiful web page, they will continue to be wonderful children
or adults to their children, and respect me and my husband as we are
aging. This will hit them some day and I do hope they will
understand the need to let go when the time is right. ranchlady"
"To my friends. I was
overwhelmed when I first saw this on my computer. I didn't look at
this as a child, but as the older person in the film. I can see myself
making the same mistakes, and watching my daughter's face as she wants
to help me remember, but hesitates, then gives me the time to regain
my thoughts. I remember a thought I saw on a grave marker. It reads:
'As you are now, once was I. As I am now soon you will be.' How
true. Time does fly. I play this at least twice a week. Thank you. R D
Reed"
"I just want to say
thank you .... it is beautiful!! Get out the Kleenex!"
"Wow! This really hit
home with me as I have both parents in the nursing home right now.
What a beautiful piece! I would love to have a copy of this when it's
available. Thanks for sharing!"
"Thank you for this
wonderful show. It says what it is so hard to say to our children. It
is slowly happening to my husband. God bless and may he give the
person who put this together more inspiration to do many more."
October 17, 2006
"I just wanted to
say, this was so beautiful. Deb"
"More than the slide
itself, reading your feedback touched my heart. I had to stop as soon
as I get to Ms. Young (dated October 8, 2006) who will be undergoing
surgery several times in the next six months.... and bowed down to my
HEAVENLY Father, in prayer. May Gods comfort and peace surround her.
Truly a good source for prayer request!!"
"THANK YOU, This was
done so BEAUTIFUL.! From Just an OLD Mother of four wonderful
children, whom I hope I will not have to intrude on."
"When Josh made this
recording, I played everyday.... and it then brought tears but those
tears were of meaning and understanding. I wish everyone had the means
and love for music to come across this. It is people like you to help
do this and I praise you. I'm sure you have touched so many people in
this word already and more to come. The show put soooo much more with
the words. Please continue to do you wonderful work. I have shed tears
of happiness once again while viewing this. God bless you.
Gloria"

"I'm sorry to do this
because i know you only mean well, but I found this slideshow
extremely hard to watch and I received it from my own mother. What if
someone DIDN'T receive all these 'gifts' from their parents? It
saddens me that all the understanding has to come form the younger
generation and the older generation feels like they deserve a pat on
the back. This slide show seems more to me like a plea for the older
generation to NOT be treated way they treated the helpless children
they ruled over. What goes around comes around."
"I am caring for my
Mother now. Sometimes I lose patience and wonder if I will get through
the day. Then I think of all the times she reached out her hand to me
and my son. The wonder of her strength in caring for her Mother,
Father, husband and me through illness is giving me my strength now.
It is now my turn to care for her and I do it willingly for her
exceptional life. Thank you for this site. It lifted me up and touched
my heart."
"Very, very touching.
I'm trying to save it properly so I can view it from time to time."
"If I showed this to
my kids I think I would be insulting them. If they don’t know how
and/or are not sensitive enough to deal appropriately with me when I
get old, (per the video’s implied definition), then both they and I
have been failures in life. Perhaps there are some who need such
schooling, but unfortunately they probably would not 'get it'.
Bury this! Tom"
"Thank You for this
wonderful ‘prayer’. My parents are in their 80’s. My husbands
parents are deceased, his mother just passed away and we miss her
spirit and enthusiasm for life. Our four children will be receiving
this ‘wish’ and I hope they take it to heart! We are both 60
and are having a wonderful life, working, giving back in the
community, and enjoying our grandchildren. God is good to us. It’s the
‘circle game’. Our best to you. Pam & Tom Tice, Fullerton,
California"

"It's awesome, simply
awesome."
"What a beautiful
tribute to our 'parents'. My mom has been diagnosed w/
Alzheimer's and my dad is her caretaker. I am just beginning a nursing
career and many of my patients are elderly. I witness no visitors, no
one taking a moment to stop and listen. After viewing this through
tear stained eyes, I know that I can make a difference for my patients
and also be there more for my parents who have always and yes, even
now, been there for me. Thank you for opening the eyes and hearts of
so many."
"I am sitting here in
tears. My daughter sent this to me. I sit with my sister-in-law every
day and I am sending this to all her children. How very true this is.
I just try to imagine how she must feel, because I am very sure that,
somewhere, deep inside, she knows what is happening to her and cannot
stop it. I had a stroke 11 years ago (I am 59) and have short term and
long term memory loss at time, some trouble with my speech, cannot run
anymore, and I know just what she must feel. Thank you so very much
for giving this wonderful message to us. God bless and keep you. You
may share any or all of this with others."
"Wow...powerful...Parents' Wish. I am sitting here crying because I
miss my own mother who passed away years ago. I only wish I had the
opportunity to care for her again. I am blessed for the patience I did
have and feel sad for the times I didn't. Thank you for reminding all
of us that we will be there someday and will want the dignity and
patience and LOVE, too."
"Well, I'm one of the
very few who didn't enjoy this video. I didn't even get the link from
my parents. Watching this video was even more infuriating because I
don't even have parents who remotely understand me or even try to. All
in all, this rather poorly made slide show with cheesy music did not
affect me positively in any way and I would never just send it to
anybody, which is very assuming and can be unfeeling (as in my case).
It only served as a reminder of what unfeeling parents I have. Sorry
to say, I wasted 5 minutes of my precious time watching this excuse
for a movie."
[Webmaster's note: We
are sorry that your relationship with your parents is not a pleasant
one and we do understand why this slideshow did not touch you the way
it touched most people]
"Received email from
a friend. Thank you for this email Parent Wish. My mother is going
thru different things. I will keep this. Barb N"

"Please advise me
when this most beautiful piece becomes available. Memories of times
past and thoughts of the future brought tears to my eyes. My thanks to
you and those who worked with you to create this heartfelt piece. I
believe that I had heard this before, but never in the way you have
presented it. Bless you for the beauty you have shared with us all.
Sincerely, Betty Grindlinger"
"I was very touched
by the pictures and song. It totally reminded me of my mother I lost
two years ago and how I took such great care of her. I at one time
thought that because I had to put my mother in a nursing home it was
my fault she died. Then looking at the sideshow it reminded me of all
the things I did for her and with her which seem to wash away my
guilt. My niece sent me the web page that someone sent her because her
mother who was my oldest sister is also dead, but thanks to GOD
knowing what everybody needs in the time they need it and for people
like you in being obedient to the still small voice inside this was
something greatly appreciated. May God Continue to Bless You. –

"Thank you for
reminding us of what we know and believe – when blessed with
beautiful, loving parents during our lives, what a blessing it is when
we are given the opportunity to show them the same loving, kindnesses
through the rest of their lives. It is a beautiful and poignant video.
Thank you for finding a way to share it. God bless, Sandi Jameson"
"I really like your
work...thank you."
"You have done a
wonderful job...from a mother"
"Truly an outstanding
piece of work. Will surely help make the younger generation have a
different understanding of their parents as they get older. Thank you.
Ed and Iona Mcknight"
"This was one of the
most beautiful thing ive ever read and seen. I sent it to my son and
daughter Cora"
"Beautiful just
Beautiful. We all need to have more patience with the elderly, be it
our family or all we meet. This is so full of food for thought. Thank
you. Joyce"
"This was the most
beautiful and heart breaking thing that I have yet to be emailed. I
come from a family of 9 children and our mother is starting to show
signs of memory loss and forgetfulness. I am sending this on to all of
my siblings and friends and I want to thank you for making this video
it will help my sisters have more patience with our mom. Julia"
"This was an awesome
video. I lost my mother two years ago. I had to put her in a nursing
home and guilt told me that resulted in her death, but the video
reminded me of the things I did for her and with her, and I now know I
did what was right. Although I cried through the entire video I was no
longer feeling the guilt I felt and some folks accused me of. I had
the best year of my life with my mother while she was in the nursing
home and that will always make me smile, Thanks for reminding me that
I did what my mother would have wanted me to do .-Tootsie"
"Very Very moving!!!
It brought tears to my eyes and made me respect aged parents -thanks
for the wake up call!!! I have three kids and may try to keep this for
them when we are (hopefully) old!! Barbara-Ann Cuccaro"

"It is beautiful and
expresses the feelings of so many parents. Lynn"
"I work at a Health
Care Facility in Lake Zurich, IL. We have an Alzheimer's/Dementia
Floor. This video was truly moving. Our residents are beautiful
people. And I just think about all the the life that they have had and
all of the things that they can or could have taught us. Thank you for
this."
"That was not one of
the best emails I ever received. It Is the best one I ever received. I
wish this email could reach every corner of the earth, I certainly
will pass It on to all of my friends. Thank you so much."
"This is the most
beautiful way to say how much our older parents need us. I don't have
mine any more, but that is the way they would have felt. I cried all
the way, with every word. Thanks for putting this together for us.
Maybe it will help everyone to understand the old ones, that they
still have so much to share with us. It's just Beautiful. Marie, OK"
"How fitting to
receive this song and video at this time. I will be sending this to
our neighbor's daughter and husband who have been taking care of her
father who has Alzheimer's disease for 5 years. He is now in a nursing
home and it is just a matter of time for him. The children go everyday
to feed him and have had times when they have been exhausted but still
do it because it is their 'father'. My mom who is 90 is in
assisted care and doesn't want to do much but sit and lay on her bed.
We try to encourage her to walk to keep up her strength. Sometimes she
responds with 'I don't want to' but with a little kind coaxing
she gets up. I am 69 and will be in the same position and hope that my
children will be understanding because we all get there sooner or
later. I am sending this to my four children and hope to get
'feedback' from them. Thank you."
"I was sent this
website and thoroughly enjoyed the pictures and music."
"This is soo
amazing!!!! Everything you had in there is reminiscent (sp) of what my
husband and I are going through. His mother is in the nursing home
with Alzheimer's and I have my parents living outside my back door and
my Mom has dementia. So the song and the pictures and the words were
EXACTLY right and made me cry!!!! I have passed this on to a few more
that are dealing with the same type of situation. Thank you!!!
Christy"
"This is amazing! In
the comments, I am reading a lot regarding the memories of our
parents, but for me, it is a glimpse into a parents future, my future!
My kids are growing up so fast and it just makes me realize that this
time, them being young, little babies, is going to be gone in no time.
I don't want my kids to grow up but it is inevitable, look at them!
This is what every parent wants and I don't think I could have ever
expressed my feelings so beautifully, eloquently. The circle of life,
isn't it amazing? What a beautiful thing! I love this! It is saved in
my computer for ever! Thank you so much! Mindy"

"I received this from
a friend and would really love to have a hard copy so that I might be
able to share it with my parents and my kids. I was wondering if there
is anyway that I could get the 'Parents Wish' and the 'Single
Moms Wish' in a version so that I might be able to print it out
for them....Thank you for your time, Kelly Gordon"

"What a beautiful way
to explain the diseases of our aging parents! Thank you all so
very much for pursuing this venture because it really helped me to
more fully understand what my parents are going through. Some of it I
already understood but I was glad to be able t understand more of how
they actually feel when burdened with these diseases."
"This is wonderful,
thank you!!"
"Thank you for
producing such a meaningful message. I am quite involved in working
with people especially in the church setting. I can see how this would
be powerful in the context of church life."
"Thank you. It is
just what I needed to help me cope another day, in caring for my 94
year old father, who has lived with me for the past 8 years. Saundra
Houston, Florida"
"Extra ordinary. I
wanna use all positive adjectives in English for this presentation.
Wonderful, to summarize. Keep going."
"This is a beautiful
slide show. I will send it to my sister-in-law who is having a
difficult time dealing with my mother-in-law. Perhaps she will
understand as my husband and I do that the changes as we age is a
normal part of life. God Bless you for making this available to the
public."
"PERFECT... until the
last page. Now I cannot send it out as the MOM and DAD is not
applicable much these days. Either divorced, deceased, or maybe never
had one parent. Wish you would delete last page (mom and dad) and send
to me. I would then not have to 'think' to 'who' before
I sent it. I also cannot even send to my kids because of the Mom and
Dad. Please think about this. Thank You. Larry Beavers"

single parent version of the slideshow is available for viewing.

"This is a very
beautiful and touching presentation. My only objection is the fact
that all but one of the pictures are men. I did send the one from Mom,
but still the photos did not represent 'Mom' they all were
either Dad or Grandpa. Thank you so much for this lovely program. SA
McAdams."
"I'll probably be
able to type better once I stop crying! Awesome presentation and very
moving! Excellent job!"

"God Bless You. From
a Daughter who was losing patience. I have found them again!"
"Thanks you for your
touching tribute and sharing it with the public. Too often we forget
where we came from and the magnificent people who devoted their lives
to their children and their country by raising responsible,
contributing, God fearing children. May we do as well a job as they
did when it comes to our opportunity to assist them in the last years
of their life. Life is journey that is best traveled with a friend."
"This was the most
beautiful thing I've seen or heard in years. It brought tears to my
eyes and so many memories! It is such a tender reminder to all
children to understand and appreciate our 'golden years'!"
"Thank you for this
very important and much need beautiful reminder in our lives. I was
very blessed to have both my parents with an alertness, faith and joy
for living. I pray that all children will acknowledge their parents as
they are with the same respect, love and caring their arms embarrassed
us when we were born. This was very beautiful-- I will always treasure
this. Maxine Martinez"
"Was truly heart
touching and oh so true. I have helped care for elderly family members
and friends and can really relate to the statements and phrases, they
do so truly describe their feelings and thoughts about what they are
experiencing in the later part of life. We, the next generation are
not behide, so treat others as you want to be treated."
October 9, 2006
"This is one of the
most touching videos and song that I have heard in a long time. The
words and pictures meant so much to me. I lost my mother when I was 26
and My father when I was 36. I am now 56 and disabled. There are times
when I just don't feel like going on but then I know the Lord still
has a purpose for me here. I have sent this to every one on my email
list. This is beautiful and so well done. God bless all of you who put
this together. I know it is a blessing to all who read it. I just sat
and cried it brought back so many memories. Love and Blessings Gayla
Brister Rosepine, LA"
"The music coupled
with the verbiage was heartwarming, reflective, and inspiring. With
the foundation of dignity and hope, how can one be anything but loving
toward our aging loved ones?"
"There surely must be
a more explicitive word above 'poignant' for this clip. It
definitely brought tears and memories to my heart. I have watched 21
family members age and die, some of them in my arms, in the past 24
years of marriage to my husband. I am also a Hospice volunteer and
know full well the love and understanding aging/dying people need in
their last precious years. As caregivers, we need so much tolerance
and understanding during the aging process and this confirms the
compassion I have had for the elderly. Thank you so much for this
website. I intend to share it with many. I think it would be a good
video to share with a life skills class in high schools. Thank you for
your beautiful and moving work. Sheryl Somrak"
"I love this very
much. It made me cry because I am currently taking care of my grandma
because she is in this situation."
"I immediately
thought that you were defending the 'right to die' too. If you
get that many comments why don’t you change it? Surely with your
creativity you could come up with something that does not hint so
strongly in this hideous direction. Even if you “don’t mean it that
way” that IS the way it reads….just change it. It is otherwise a
lovely piece. Jeff "
[Webmaster's note: We
do not really get a lot of comments about that. Only occasionally. Due
to lack of time, we can only strive to please the greater majority. It
is impossible to please everybody.]

"Thank you so very
much for the deeply moving Powerpoint presentation Mothers' Wish. My
mother passed away five weeks ago, on September 3rd this year at 91.
Everything said in the poem is so true, it has been my lived
experience. When my mother used to thank me (very often) for
everything I did for her, I would always reply 'You did it for me
when I was little, now it is my turn to do it for you'. The last
time she said this to me, was a few days before she passed away
(suddenly and unexpectedly) this time she added, 'Nobody wants old
people', I replied, 'I do, I love you' to which she
responded 'I know you do, and I love you more than you could ever
know'. I am missing my mother terribly, more than she could ever
know, but 'finding' this Powerpoint presentation has been a real gift,
so thank you very much."
"I will be 76 next
month. I wish my children had e-mail. I am sick - facing surgery
several times in the next 6 months. Please pray for me. B. Young"
"Wow! Parent's Wish
was awesomely done. It set me back to think how precious the time we
have with our parents are, and how much they have given to us over the
years. God's circle of Life is truly tremendous and a very beautiful
thing when we take time to honor one another as this story tells.
Thank you for sharing this. Nita C"
October 7, 2006
"So beautiful brought
tears to my eyes. Echoes Of The Heart sent it to me. Thanks, Patricia
OKC"
"This is truly
beautiful, and a reminder to all of us that someday there may be a
reversal of roles between parent and child. Beautiful music as well
and went so well with the video. R. Hernandez Carrollton, KY"
"The inspirational
expression was moving and very true. Someday if God taries, we will be
where our parents are now. do you have this presentation in the form
of piano music-- medium to hard? Perhaps it is in a book? Thank you.
Virginia."
[Webmaster's note:
We're sorry, Virginia, but we do not have this presentation in the
medium you are seeking for."]
"Wonderful! With
tears in my eyes and my heart so full of love for parents and
grandparents long gone, I sent this on to our four children and even
some grandchildren. The music and his voice touched me to the core of
my being. Thank you so much and God Bless."
"I am glad that I was
warned to have a tissue handy! This is very powerful. I work in
geriatrics and provide education to staff (caregivers) around caring
for seniors. I am always looking for a way to tap into the emotions of
care givers. So that care givers can look beyond the behaviours of
those in our care, to the person behind the illness/behaviours.
Although this show is from parents to children, I think it will be
very compelling for these care givers to reflect upon the caring they
do about the person, which is more respectful and dignifying than
completing a 'task'. Thank you for taking the time to prepare
and share. Anita"
"Thanks for such a
lovely and true wish. I regret the times that I was impatient with my
mother when she was forgetting to finish a sentence. She's gone to
Glory now but I know I can and will be more patient with my elders and
stop trying to finish their sentence for them. I'm 56 and now I
understand some of the aches and pains my elders who have since pass
on use to complain about. They use to say 'You just keep on
living'.' Now I understand and appreciate the wisdom that was
given to me when I did not think that I needed it. Keep up the good
work."
"I would like to take
this opportunity to personally thank you for such a beautiful and well
put together arrangement. I own a Home Health Care Agency in Colorado
(All Heart Home Care, Inc.) and work with this situation everyday. I
see so many families loose sight on a daily basis that their parents
need to live their ending years with dignity. I will definitely be
sharing this arrangement with many individuals and I’d like to also
present it during our caregiver orientation. It’s so very true in
every aspect. Thank you for taking the time and enduring the talent to
make sure this was put out there for all of us to see. Thank you,
Janice Crowley, CEO/President, All Heart Home Care, Inc."
October 6, 2006
"That was awesome. I
went through this with my parents. Thanks for putting this together.
Sincerely, Gary"
"That was beautiful!
I'm not that old, but it hit home anyway, as I have spent the last
year dealing with many things that make me feel that old sometimes. I
have been left with and really enjoyed your song with the pictures and
words below. It made me realize that I need to be more respectful of
my Dad and his wife, as they get older. He turned 78 last month and I
did take him a cake, but we all need to spend more time with our
parents and other family members, regardless how old. Thanks for your
reminder! Diana Adams"
"This is beautiful. I
can relate. Care giver and daughter of a Stroke survivor for 8 years.
She can not walk or move from chair to bed on her own. My dad finally
passed away on 8/7/06 from taking care of her. God Bless his soul."
"Thank you for this.
Working in long term care with the elderly is tough for us as staff
let alone families. Thank you for allowing me to share this with our
families."
October 5, 2006
"The Parents' Wish
was just forwarded to me and I must say I was so touched by the words
of this poem."
"I love this and
would like to see it become available on a CD and a DVD. This has
truly touched my heart and would love to share it with people who have
no internet. Thank you for this. It reminds me of my mother who has
been dead some 10 years and I would love for my mother-in-law to be
able to see this. She is 87 years old."
"Just a quick reply
to you about Parents' Wish. It was so beautiful it made me cry. Thank
you for persevering and getting it up onto macromedia. Barbara Abbott"
"This is absolutely a
blessing! It truly touched my heart. I'm sending this to our youth
pastor to play for our youth. Thank you. "
"This is the most
beautiful touching email I have ever had forwarded to me. Thank you
for touching my even though it brought tears flowing! I've shared it
with the entire staff where I teach. God Bless you for such inspiring
work! Tanya Wilkinson Aurelia, Iowa"
"Certainly a message
of dignity. The words could not have been any more truer and thought
provoking. As a caregiver, I have been even more enlightened by the
wisdom and song presented. Thank you so much. J. Turner, Charlotte,
NC"
"I so enjoyed this
because it brought back sweet cherished memories of when we had my
mother living with us. Although she did not have Alzheimer's her COPD
led her to a point in time when she could not remember anything and to
have her when she needed us the most was an especially wonderful
experience to the point we drew closer than we had ever been. Even
though this Parents' Wish Feedback did not have to remind me of
everything that took place during the last two years she had with us
but it was worth a million times more than I can say. May the Lord
Richly Bless you for these Wonderful words and Blessings to all that
takes the time to read this. Mildred"
"This slideshow is
one of sad truth but the way it has been presented here it is
heartwarming and inspiring. My hubby and I were caregivers to my
Mother in her last months of battling cancer. It was the hardest task
I have ever endured but I would not take any of it away if I could
because just her smile made my heart jump! If the roles had been
reversed, she would have been there for me; for sure! Thank you!
Renee"
"Well we always think
it is us that are raised by our parents and that is where it end. We
never realize until later on in life that we raise and take care of
our parents also as they get older. So we are taken care of until we
are old enough to take care of our parents. Parents' Wish inspired me
to know that as our parents get older, and so do we, we realized that
yes we want to live, but yet when we are so old where we cannot do the
things we did as we did when we were younger, we also want to die to
live again. Thank you for the experience that this has given me, it
has touched me in the most special place of all, MY HEART, that I know
with the love I have for life will live forever. Josephine Haggerty
Brooklyn NY"
"First of all I just
love this. My mom saw it on my computer and had tears in her eyes and
said that it is the most beautiful thing she has ever seen. I think it
might be a tribute to mothers everywhere to play it at a funeral since
it goes through the whole life."
"This is absolutely
wonderful. Every child in the world should read these words. Josh
Groban is a wonderful singer and this song is so appropriate for
Parents' Wish."
October 4, 2006
"I really like this
music. I was inspired so much with the music please notify me when it
comes out on CD"
"A friend of mine
e-mailed me this beautiful slide show in late August. It was so
relative to what I was going through at the time. My Dad was admitted
to an Alzheimer Care Center a few days later and each time I viewed
the slide show I couldn’t help but cry. As he quickly declined it was
as if I became the parent. He wanted me beside him, holding his hand.
It seemed I was drawn to viewing Parents' Wish even though I knew it
would make me cry. The words are so true and the music so beautiful.
Dad passed away in late September. Parents' Wish is one e-mail I will
not delete. It was needed in a very difficult time in my life and I
will never forget it."
"Beautiful and
eloquent!! I am speechless. Thank you saying the words that I do not
know how to say with my mouth, but these words are in my heart!"
"This slide show
blessed me and my wife so much. Thank you."
"My friend sent this
to me and I played it over and over and cried and cried. It is such a
beautiful video. It makes you stop and think that someday this will be
you. I lost my father in January and it made me think of everything my
parents did for me. thank you. Chris Feehan, Aurora,IL"
October 3, 2006
"Thank you for the
beautiful message. Being a young senior myself and having nursed for
several years I truly believe that this should be heard and seen by
every person young and old alike to be appreciated. It is so
beautifully done by song and picture its inspired me to continue to
help and appreciate the wonderful parents and grandparents that we
were blessed with. Thank-you doesn't seem adequate."
"I am 35 years old,
and live with my parents. They raised us up in a Christian home where,
daddy was a Baptist Preacher who loved the Lord, and mom a devoted
wife. Daddy had a heart attack, was diagnosed with Parkinson's
disease, diabetes, and then dementia! He has gone down so much. I told
them that they were my children now. I would always be here for them.
The film touched my heart, and I dedicated it to them to let them
know, 'I'm here.....!' Daddy told us a week ago, he was home
sick for Heaven! I cried. He has had a hard life physically. When it's
his time to go, I know I will see him again, for he taught me the way,
and I know I will one day find him in the arms of Jesus. I love you,
Mom & Dad! Lori"
"What a blessing!!!!!
I had my two sons sit down with me to watch this. I sobbed as we sat 'hugged
up' watching this AWESOME, AWESOME video!! God bless you and God's
blessings be upon all that you do!!!!."
"Very heartfelt !!"
"THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!"
"Thank you so much. N
Patel"
"Thank you, Thank
you, THANK YOU! This is the most beautiful video I have ever seen. The
pictures, words, and song.. for it is all just perfectly displayed. I
am a mom of 8 children and also a care provider for an elderly women
who will be 91 next week. Her children have left her and we are all
she has now. I have tried to instill in my children every thing your
video has spoke of. I am sending this to family and friends and hope
that they to can see how much parents should STILL mean to us all as
they get older. Society today seems to be very ignorant on the needs
of the elderly. Time is precious and so should every moment with our
parents and seniors be. Thank you again for such a heart warming, true
and beautiful video!! Dayle Coutu Colchester, CT"

"The Parents' Wish
was just awesome. My congrats for a fine piece of work."
"It would really be a
great tribute to the people there and to the Alzheimer's Association.
The original artist deserves so much credit for this song and how it
has touched so many lives, and the background of the Parents' Wish
just completes it. Hope to hear from you soon. Thank you for your time
and consideration."
"Yes my husband just
lost his mother and when he looked at the slide show it touched his
heart so much that he cried. Thank you for that. It meant so much to
me and God bless you."
"I would love to send
this to my kids, but for 30+ years, there has only been a Mom with a
lot of pain from a Dad who continues to hurt. Please write one more
appropriate for single parents like me? Thanks!"

"I was touched at the
contents of the above video slide which has make me cry as I am a
devoted carer to my mother as my father has recently passed away. I
have recently now set up an elderly day care centre in London with one
of my colleagues some 2 months ago and we cater for elderly of all
mixed race. Narendra Patel."
"A Parents' Wish was
so touching, and set me to crying. Your message is powerful, and oh,
so true! I am 61 years old, and have children and grandchildren. My
mother is 90, and in the stage where she needs much help, patience,
and understanding. Thank you for your beautiful message of love and
loyalty to our parents."
"This message is so
important. Tragically, parents understand their children much better
than children understand their parents. However, in the case of aging
parents, the children’s time will soon run out for catching on.
Parents have a lifetime to figure it out."
October 1, 2006
"Thank you for taking
the time to make such a beautiful video. The combination of words,
images and music are so inspirational. You have put into perspective
so much about how and why we should care for our parents. I see so
many of our senior citizens lonely and feeling un-loved and hopefully
this video can help bridge the wide gap between our full and busy
lives and the screaming silence of old age. Thank you again."
"What a beautiful
message. I hope you can create a CD. I would pay for it no matter the
price. Congratulations, you have accomplished a great deal, so far. It
has really touched my heart."
"A tear came to my
eye. It was a much needed reminder of what is truly important in the
over programmed, over technical, over stressed world we live in."
"Tears ran down my
face as I read it - my mother is 91 and it brings her gentle, loving,
always accepting smile to mind ... thank you!"
"My sister-in-law
sent this to me quite a while ago. My dad died in 1997 and since that
time I took care of my dear sweet mom who was suffering from
Alzheimer's. I was bound to determine she would not go to a home and
she would live the rest of her life happy and with diginity. Well I
made my goal, my dear sweet mother passed away on June 2nd and I just
miss her terribly. My mom was the most important person in my life and
I wanted her to be well taken care of. If the roles were reversed and
I was in an accident and couldn't care for myself my mom would have
taken care of me until her dying day. I wish more people would realize
how important your parents are because if I could have a wish mine
would be to have my wonderful parents back in my life. I miss the both
of them."

"Thank you. Parent’s
Wish is beautiful"
"I loved the slide
show."
"I am in awe of it. I
would very much like to send it on to my children when you have
changed the pictures from all male subjects to women. Countless
now-elderly married women, raised children years ago with
irresponsible and absentee husbands. These women had to be both mother
AND father to their children. So the original pictures, 'Tribute to
Dad' are not appropriate for many women such as myself. How about
a 'Tribute to Mom'.? That would be sensational. I know you are
working on it and wish you much success on the female version. Josh
Groban is a fantastic singer. You could not have selected a better
vocalist for this piece."
"Thank you for
producing such an inspiring slide show presentation. I have enjoyed it
tremendously! Please, contact me when the CD is available so I can add
it to our spiritual care and bereavement packages and or for a
presentation. I believe this will be a great source for those who are
in the hospice community who seeks to serve those who are coping with
aging mothers and fathers. Again, Thank you!"
"Thank you for such
an inspiring tool which I pray I can use for my clients and their
families."
"This would be great
to use in assisted living homes during holidays and special
occasions."
"Thanks you for a
very well spoken inspirational message. I am a home healthcare
provider, and feel that you captured perfectly the heart of the
elderly."

"This really put
things in the proper perspective. WOW!!!!"
"What a beautiful
thought put to words. I have a son that is an only child who doesn't
understand why I can't remember, eat when he says eat, and all the
other facets that come with getting wiser. I e-mailed this to him, so
that perhaps he will understand someday. Thank you. You have only
reinforced all the things that the next generation should focus on.
God Bless"
"A deep thank you for
the Parent's Wish presentation. I found the three worlds I inhabit
coming together in a powerful way as one who has an aging parent, is
the parent of two children under 7, and as a chaplain who works daily
in long-term care with frail elders and their families. Few
responsibilities are as important as returning the appreciation for
our own childhood rearing by offering compassionate supportive care
that protects and promotes the dignity of our aging elders. We all
face great challenges in this regard and those who are frontline
caregivers need greater support from family, friends, and government
for the work they do. Finally, our nation faces an ever growing
demographic of aging parent and good education on caregiving issues as
raised here is vital. Rev. Mark Chaffin"

"This is a wonderful
heartwarming presentation. Thank you for reformatting it and letting
it be redistributed."
"I pray to god to
bless you all for such a hearty feelings to all the lovely parents who
love their dear children and to those children who can never
repay their parents in any life time."
"I received an email
from my dad with a link to this slideshow. An outstanding piece of
work. It is a very humbling message. It is ironic how the circle of
life takes us from being the nurtured to the nurturers, and back to
the nurtured again. I pray that all children will heed this message
toward their parents. I would like to see a message from a child to a
parent. That would be cool. God bless you for this publication."
"This is a beautiful
presentation. Having cared for my father prior to his passing, and now
for my mother for the past 5 years, I do understand how valuable this
is. My own mother sent this to me, and it is very touching. But as
another reader said, it is a HUGE guilt trip. I love my mother dearly,
I treat her with respect and kindness, and I do everything I can to
make her comfortable and still take care of her to the best of my
ability, EVEN if it means doing some things she really doesn't like."
"I think it should be
a commercial that should run EVERY DAY! So many people forget what
their parents did for them. They feel it is a sacrifice to care for
their parents but not for children --- where is the logic in that? I
loved it and it hit home as I care for my 79 year old Mother who is
bed bound and with Alzheimer's. And in June my husband left me and I
have no family -- it is just me and her and her income. But I wouldn't
trade a minute of it! Sure I would like a break to go on a weekend
get-a-way but being here with her won't ever come close to what she
has done and been for me. It is beautiful! Thanks! Mary Ann"
"This is a touching
and very moving piece to receive. Thank you for putting it together
with the great music, And thank you for making it available to the
rest of us! SW, Edmond, OK"
"I loved the slide
show. I live with my Mother. I am 39 years old. Many don't understand
how we can and be as happy as we are. Well we have lost a lot. My only
sister, my son, and my Dad. When you have lost so much you cling to
what is left. I have a folder marked 'Things sent from Mom'
This will go into that folder and I will view it now and then. I don't
want to forget this one. I owe her so much. For being strong, for
being understanding, For Raising me to love the Lord with all my
heart. Living for God"

"Being an Adult
Family Home owner, I spend most all my time with 4 wonderful ladies
who all have dementia. My days are spent very fulfilled. Everything on
the slide show is true and how can we not appreciate the last few
years our elders have. Some days are tough but no one said that life
is perfect. I give my ladies the best I have each and every day. I
know that its only through the love and mercy of our Heavenly Father
that I can. I hope I never get to busy to stop and love each one of
them the way they deserve. Thank You"
"June, on Father's
Day in fact, my children's father and my ex husband and friend, was
hit by a drunk driver, on his way home from work. Your wish brought
tears to my eyes, and I will not yet pass it on to my girls, as it is
too soon, to read of dying parents, but I will keep it until wounds
are healed some. It is beautiful and it made me remember all those
tender years, my ex husband and I spent; rearing our precious
daughters, through teething and crawling and drooling and walking,
talking and now they are almost young women of 15 and 17. Thanks for
sharing. Christine"
"This slideshow made
me cry.... in a good way... knowing that we need to love our parents
more,, before they sleep away in death. It's so powerful!!! hope to
see more slideshows."
"I loved the
presentation. It made me cry and think a lot. I've been there for my
mother when she was going through a lot of health issues and she's
only 58. I hope that later in life as we get older I'll still be able
to be there for her. And I hope if need be my daughter will be there
for me. We always hope and wish that we don't put such a burden on our
children, but hope that they understand and are there for you no
matter what. Thanks for such a powerful message."
"I was wanting to
know if there are more slideshows like the Parents' Wish? I really
hope you will make more. It's so amazing how the people made this."
"So sad that someone
felt the need to write such a heart wrenching letter to a child. As
for me, my child shows that I am loved every day. I guess it's
all in the way we raise our children. Give love and it always come
back. It needs no reminders. God Bless, Sally"
"Very simple
message...absolutely beautiful."
"Thank you so much
for this wonderful and touching pictures and words. It's true that we
all forget all of this important needing of our parents as most of us
strive to live in better lives. Most of us forgot the divinity of
serving and loving our parents. This morning i was struggling what is
the next step that I need to take in order to stay close to my faith.
I am waiting for the answer as I am searching it diligently however
the answer pop into my heart as I was reading these beautiful words.
It inspired me strongly that I need to return to them as I was away
from home quite a long time. Yes, it is the time for me to serve them.
There will be no regrets in me if I take the action now. ML Thank you"
"I watched the one on
single father. My mother passed away two years ago and my dad came to
live with me. It has been hard for both of us, but watching the video
made me see things from his side. Even though I work in the medical
field it still is frustrating at times, but I think, you know he is
just like a child again."

"I wanted to thank
you for the Parents' Wish e-mail. I saved it so I could read it when
times are sad- it gives me comfort. I saved it but about three hours
later I wanted to hear and see it but I couldn't hear the music. They
go together beautiful. Please send it to me again."
"I hope there are a
lot of children who see this. This is the way I treat my mom.
Remembering ALL the things she did for me and my 3 siblings. I just
know that the roles are reversed now. They become the child and we
become the parent. Excellent... I hope this makes it to a lot of
people."
"This is the most
moving e-mail I have ever received! Thank you!!!!"
"Totally
magnificent!! I became so emotional because the words are true to the
heart. I'm very fortunate that our sons are very family oriented and
that they've shared their views on our aging process. They both agreed
they'd take care of us until they no longer were able but would hire a
special nurse to come and take care of us in our own home. Yes, they
haven't forgotten their family values. Again, your Parents' Wish is
breathtaking and I'll gladly pass this on to family and friends. Thank
you for your time in advance and continue the marvelous work. Mrs. T.
Dooley, N.H"
"This is so
beautiful. Thank you very much. It speaks volumes. Thank you so much."
"Well, I just don't
know what to say...Beautiful doesn't begin to describe this project.
It's a work of art. Even the accompanying music. Glorious!!! This was
an awesome experience. I forwarded it to a few email friends and could
barely see to type for the tears pouring down my face. As I told them,
I'm going to find a way to incorporate this in my Last Will and
Testament. The writer's parents should feel very blessed to have such
a sensitive, discerning and compassionate child as this. God bless
you. And their children should be extremely in tune and hold in their
memory what this parent's wishes are as they approach their own golden
years. Ethel L. Buchanan"
"How touching...
beautifully done. Thank you for the time and love it took to compose
such a lovely tribute to parents. Cordially, Glenda Smith"
"When I read the
words 'If ever I do not want to eat. do not force us', I
harkened back to when our first born daughter was just a few months
old, we said to the pediatrician, 'somedays she will not eat',
and he replied, 'she is like all humans, she will not eat when she
is not hungry. When she gets hungry, she will eat'. Today she is a
53 year old beautiful young lady, married and the mother of two adult
children and grand mother of a three year old grand daughter. James Ja.
Andert, Yuma AZ.".
"Your web site is
outstanding. Thank you for this."
"It's totally
awesome, very beautiful!!!... THANK YOU! for sharing it and 'God
Bless You!'..."
"There aren't words
to describe what I had just read, that was awesome! And it really does
make a person think! Love you mom and dad. That was great."
"Having lost my mom a
couple of years ago when she had little quality of life and as I enter
my 'golden years', we as adults tend to forget all those things
that our parents did for us. As I still enjoy, relish and treasure
every moment I have left with my father, I hope I can keep those words
in my heart and love him for who he is and treat him with the respect
he truly deserves. What a beautiful piece, one of the best that I have
seen in quite some time. Brenda Toronto, Ontario"
"Recently losing my
Dad a month ago, this really had me crying. It is so touching, he was
the best Dad, husband, brother, human being overall. He has and will
continue to change lives, as this presentation will too. Beautiful,
touching and thought provoking."
September 25, 2006
"I cannot express
what heartfelt thoughts, every time I see the words, and listen to
your words, Josh! We used this song at my Moms memorial service!, she
was the greatest Mom! All I can say is Thank You for your beautiful
songs, and, your most heartfelt words ever written!. A friend
always, Bev"
"Great story, but the
pictures in the one for single mother are mostly of men and fathers!"
"This is truly a
beautiful and touching piece of work, thank you."
"I was a geriatric
registered nurse for many years in California and you have brought out
the reason why I loved it so very much. I think this presentation is
magnificent and I have sent it to MANY. For those of us moms who have
raised our children almost alone. I wish there were more pictures of
moms with their children also. A mom teaching them their night prayers
would be great. Love and gratitude, Junette Merwin, Fatima, Portugal"
"I am a geriactric
nurse. Thank you so much for this. It speaks volumes. I have shared it
with children of my clients. It says more than I will ever be able to
say. Thanks again, Joyce"
"Beautiful and very 'on'...
in a world when we tend to forget what's MOST important in society.
Pat Bender, Nurse"
"It's a shame that
the author is unknown because that was beautiful. I am a 25 year old
man who has moved back home to help his mother take care of a
disabled, ungrateful and abusive husband, and an 85 year old
grandmother who is showing the signs of her age. My mother during all
this has started to get frustrated with the situation. Getting
agitated by having to repeat herself to her mother and after dealing
with her husband has chosen to not seek any medical attention if she
is in a life or death situation. I love my mother very much and it
pains me that she has survived and stayed strong threw so much for so
long and when it finally comes down to fighting for her own life, for
the sake of not hindering our lives, she chooses to give up. This hits
very close to home and IT IS BEAUTIFUL. Although I must admit I wasn't
expecting to bust out in tears like that lol. Thank you -MJ"

"I have two
interesting jobs. In the mornings, I work with Parents and Young
Children. In the afternoon, I work with elderly people with memory
impairments. When working with the young children, I am teaching them
how to be part of the world around them, but when working with the
elderly, I am learning from them how to be part of the world within
them. My Mom sent me this website to help me understand the elderly
people I work with, but now I also understand the rewards of parenting
our children with love and patience. The slide show is a beautiful
reminder of the Circle of Life. Parents taking care of Children when
they are young and Children taking care of Parents when they are old.
This is a great reminder for all of us, whether we are taking care of
young children or watching over our aging or sick parents. Thank you
for this loving reminder that We will all be at this stage of life
someday."
"I have looked at you
web site several times and will continue looking at it when needed. I
think that the phrase 'Navigate my way through the world wide web'
would open up a lot more meanings if the last part 'through the
world wide web' had been left off and Just put 'HELP ME
NAVIGATE MY WAY'. Thank you."
"I just viewed this
all inspiring piece. All I can say is 'A Gift From The Angel'.
Thank You."
"I play it over and
over, and I just want to commend you for a wonderful, heart rendering
presentation of grandparents towards their children and grandchildren.
Each time I play it, I cry. It is so real, and the song by Josh is
perfect. Thank you for blessing me and my family and for blessing many
others."
"In the ten years I
have had my computer this is the most powerful moving mail I have
read. I have all these feelings inside of me and you put it into
words. I am on the other side of breast cancer right now, love my boys
so much but want them to understand how i feel and you have done that
for me. Tank you."
"When this world
moves so fast, it was humbling to listen, think back, and take stock
of what our parents gave to us, not in dollars, but in respect and
love. Thank you for this tearful reminder, that I have played over and
over and over. God Bless."
"I have been a nurse
for over 20 years and my true love has always been with the elderly.
This presentation truly touched me. Whoever put this together
certainly understands life and the tenderness of an old heart. Thanks"
"Your presentation
was really very touching. It has been a tearful experience for me. As
a daughter I remember the times how my parents raised me and how they
loved me (us) unconditionally. As a childless woman, I feel failure on
my part because I don't have someone to be raised and taken good care
off aside from my loving husband. Last message to couples who
have children: LOVE them, TAKE GOOD CARE of them, for you are so lucky
to see your fruits of love. I just hope that one day we will have ours
too. I hope IVF will finally work for us on our second try, but the
first step of course is to save money for the procedure. Oh my, I'm
dying to see my children."
"Yesterday was the
15th anniversary of my fathers passing and tomorrow is the 19th
anniversary of my mothers passing. Needless to say I cried. I was
there to help both my parents though the last years of their lives.
Sometimes it was frustrating because things that came so easy to me
(like setting the clock on the microwave) was a challenge to them. I
hope people that see this pay attention. Life is far too short and you
don't realize how much you'll miss your parents until they are gone.
Tell your parents you love them today because tomorrow you may not be
able to. Getting this today was like getting a message from my
parents. So now, a message to my parents. I love and miss you both
very much. Thank you to bringing me up to be the person I am."
September 23, 2006
"Words cannot express
my gratitude. When all the others add their feedback they will say
what I can't put into words. Unbelievably grateful."
"I was so taken with
the words that were spoken in this that it made me want to shed a
tear. Thank you very much."
"I have to say this
has touched my life forever. I lost my grandfather yesterday of
Alzheimer and Parkinson and I had gotten this email a few months back
when things seemed so unfair and unclear to me but I have to tell you
seeing this helped me see what my grandpa wanted me to know and it
helped us as he went through every stage of dying slowly and he went
peacefully to be with our savior Jesus Christ. But I think every
human being that comes in regular contact or works with the elderly
should have to view this so they can realize this is a Parents' wish
no matter who cares for them in their final days and hours of this
life. Thank you and God bless you. Kelly Max of Clovis, CA"
"I'm having a hard
time typing through my tears!"
"Maudlin and banal.
Properly raised children don't need such exhortations."
"Awesome in it's
beauty and truth..."
"I just have to tell
you that your slideshow brought me and my mother to tears. What a
beautiful tribute and reality check for us!"
September 22, 2006
"Your presentation
captured so beautifully and effectively what we need to know right now
for our own parents, and for later so that our children will know how
to deal with us. Fantastic work and great choice of music. Thanks so
very much."
"This has been the
most moving email that I have ever received. Perspective is everything
and this puts everything in perspective!"
"This isn't my first
time watching this video, but listening to 'You Raise Me Up' on
CD made me want to view this again. Every time I do, I cry for my own
parent's sacrifices they made for me, but also, my son is almost ready
to take his first steps and just know how precious he is to me and
realize that my parents view me the same way. This video touches me to
the core and have shared it with everyone I could possibly think of.
Thank you so much."
"I absolutely loved
your view of the 'Parents'.
"I think this email
is one of the best messages that could be sent. It makes you think and
re-evaluate what’s important and how we all should treat our parents.
Thank you for the moment. Ket/Ft. Lauderdale"
"Thank you for such a
beautiful vision. We have both gone through this with our parents and
are now near these stages in our own life. What a beautiful way to
portray for families."
"Thank you for a
beautiful presentation."
"Poignantly
beautiful."
"Your slide show set
to "You Raise Me Up" is very beautiful and moving."
"Do the world a favor
and keep this going. I lost both of my parents within the last 6 years
and everything that is within this clip is how they felt. I don’t
think you should eliminate or change anything. It is one of the most
moving clips I have seen and I think it will definitely hit home to a
lot of us 'baby boomers' who will or already have lost our
wonderful parents. Cherish your parents while they are still here no
matter how frustrated you get, because once they are gone you can’t go
back. Thank you!"
"Just beautiful! Made
me cry. It was like reading a story written about my 86 year old
father. A very caring person must have written it. One who loved their
aging parents a lot."
"My son sent me this
feedback. My tears roll down from my eyes each time I read it. Mona
Khiytani:
'This almost made me cry Mum....actually it did make me cry. I
really understand what it says and I will do EVERYTHING that you told
me and follow those words 100%. Don't worry Mum, I am here for you all
the way. Now and when you grow old and cannot walk I will be your
support. You can count on me always! Love you very much!!!! Birdie.'"

"What can I say that
hasn't been said. This touched me so deeply! This was the only video
ever to really make me FEEL! This is going to every one I know! Oh
Thank you and Josh's voice singing this. Oh Bravo...Bravo Mom...48 yrs
old"
"Today we buried my
grandfather, and after watching this made me really think of what his
wishes were and how we upheld them for him. I will definitely have my
children watch this, thank you for putting this out and making it
easier for me to accept my grandfathers death a little easier. God
Bless. Jana Hagman, Redfield, SD"
"A friend emailed
this to me and it has touched me so much. It reminds me of my late
grandmother. It brought tears to my eyes and I cried as I listened to
it. Thanks again great job and keep up the good work."
"I just want to say
thank you for this beautiful web site. May God richly bless all those
involved in putting this online. Thank you again. Miriam Jones"
"Absolutely
beautiful! It made me cry."
"I work at a Long
Term Care Home in Almonte. After viewing your video I believe it would
be a wonderful thing to share with our staff working in the home. We
have a Supportive Measures Training program to assist staff in dealing
with the changing needs of our seniors in the home and strongly feel
that this video would be worth showing as an education tool."
"I am a senior now
and feel many of the problems on your site. I cried as I watched it
and could not stop watching it over and over. Its beautiful. Thank you
from the bottom of my heart. You have made an old lady feel all is not
lost, just resting for now. God Bless You. Lilla McRobb (Canada )"
"I am a nurse
educator in Raleigh, NC. I coordinate and teach in a 'Geriatic Core'
program. I played the Parents' Wish film clip at our last core and it
was very effective."
"What a beautiful way
for us aging parents forward to our next generation. You have done a
beautiful work. Josh Groban has one of the purest voices I have ever
heard. We are blessed to have this to see. jrisner"
"This awesome slide
show that I just seen is a message I know a lot of people need to
see."
September 20, 2006
"That was a great
video. We had to put my mother-in-law in a nursing home a couple of
years ago. We would have loved for her to come and stay with us but
unfortunately we are in the military and was living on the base in a
small house with an upstairs so there was no way she could have done
the stairs. We do not get to go visit as much as we would like but
thank goodness my mother is a nurse there so we always know how she is
doing. When your parents do get older a lot of them go back to being a
child. It is up to everyone to realize that one day we will be them so
we need to show them the utmost respect. This is a real tear jerker.
Great Job. T.H. Louisiana"
"I can not find the
words to describe how I feel every time I watch this slide show. I am
overwhelmed with tears. We recently had to move our parents from their
home to an efficiency apartment and we had to make them sell their car
as well. It has been very difficult for my dad to accept and he has
become very mean and argumentative. My poor mother has to go through
all of his mood swings 24-7 and I feel really bad for her. I do not
work so I spend as much time with them as I possibly can. I come home
and cry and watch the slide show to give me the strength to go through
it all over again the next day. Thank you so much."
"Get rid of the
reference to 'wanting to die'. The rest of the show was great!"
"I was shown this by
two of my friends at school, Rupal and Saira, and by the end of it I
was crying. It has made me determined to always be faithful and loving
and be there for my parents for as long as I or they live. I thought
the music really suited it. An excellent and touching piece. Lizzie"
"I was reading this
as it played. I just lost my dad and we had the best 6 months for
caring for him and a wonderful friendship which we should have had all
our life. I have no regrets. It reminded me of each step of the
process so fresh my heart feels the grief. The only promise I couldn't
keep was to take him home and I went everyday from morning till night
sometimes starting at 4:30 in the morning till all night at the end. I
hope he knows that i don't regret and I love him. I miss him. I wish
we had more time."
"I don't think I've
ever read anything as touching as this! I don't know of anyone who
wouldn't cry when they read it! I loved it! Thanks for taking the time
to share your thoughts with me! Edna Adams."
"It made me cry cry
cry cry every time I watched this show. Every second I watch and I
cried again. It was truly beautiful and I was so blessed. God gives
you more power and wisdom to do more presentation like this one. If
you have more please send to us. I always remember my Dad and my Mom
in the Philippines because I work here in the Middle East for 14
years. I realize that I love theme very much. I was deeply moved
and shed many tears as I have gone through all of this with my
parents. I really hope that everyone worldwide reads this and I sent
also this for all my friends relatives. Once again more power to you
and may God bless you. Thank you for reminding us. Arnel de Vera,
K.S.A"
"I just love your
song and I was just wondering would it be possible for you to send me
the words to it. It is a beautiful song and so true in what you are
singing again just beautiful. Thank you."
[Webmaster's note:
Please read item 10 of our FAQ for the link to
the words of the slideshow.]
"I feel this is an
email in a class by itself. I sent to several and when they viewed it,
my phone would ring and they were choked up. Being 'older'
this is priceless. Thank you for sharing Parents' Wish."

"A fantastic
reminder! My mother and father-in-law have been married over 70 years
and have 12 grown children and numerous great, great, great grand
children. Their health is now failing and a very hard decision has
been made to place them together in a 24 hour care facility. They are
truly loved and blessed and honoured!! Not every parent is so lucky.
Thank you for the reminder."
"This piece is
outstanding. I am fast approaching THAT age and can relate. I will
send this on to my 5 children, whom I love dearly. Thank you again. It
is most touching. Peggy Forman"
"I think this
presentation is a wonderful reminder to us 'kids' that we need
to be faithful to our parents, uncles and aunts and grandparents as
God intended us to do."
"That was absolutely,
incredibly, positively out of this world. It was so beautiful that I
shared it with my children and grandchildren along with my senior
friends. Josh Groban added so much to that whole presentation. God
Bless Him! He's outstanding. What a great job. Thank You for sharing
that with us. Yes, I played it over and over again. Ginny in RI"
"I received this
e-mail from a friend after my Mother died, early spring. It was so
heart touching. Continue the good work. You have really 'Blessed'
a lot of lives, and made a good point in comparison of child verses
older adult. The Bible tells us, twice a child and once an adult. If
you live 3 scores and 10, life will be miserable. It shows today, The
Nursing facilities are running over. God Bless You. Connie"
"My mother just
recently moved in with my family from out-of-state. It has been an
adjustment for everyone, but I have always felt good about my decision
and my family has been very supportive. There are those times when you
are tired or stressed that, while you don’t regret the decision, it
just gets hard. This slideshow confirms to me what I have always felt…
I need to be there for my parent(s) who loved and cared for me in
every way possible. It is THE VERY LEAST I can do."
"This was one of the
most awesome emails I have ever received. Thanks you!!"
"I cried because deep
down in our lives we have failed our parents at one point or another
in time. But with this wish, I will try and make amends. Thank you Jag
and Poh Choo for sending this to me. Pam"
"That was a beautiful
site. I will definitely be forwarding it to all my friends and family
so that they understand that our parents will not be with us always,
but while they are we need to love and comfort them as they did us for
so many years."

"Thank you this has
to be the best yet!! My 92 year old Dad lives with me after my Mom
died 2 years ago. You are so right, all that you said is so true!! God
Bless you! I have sent this to my two children. Betty Tucker,
Willimantic CT"
"I think the video
and words in it were just beautiful. My mother is in very bad health.
Seems like everything healthwise is wrong, and the doctors say there
is nothing that can be done. I have not had her back in my life but
just a few years. This video gets me to thinking I need to do
everything I can for her. God bless you!"
"SO SAD ... BUT SO
TRUE. It made me cry. I watched again two days later and I cried
again. It was truly beautiful.
"I, as a single
mother, was not inspired by the photos that went with the song and the
words of Single Mother's Parent's Wish. The majority of the photos
were of men. My children did not have a father figure for all of their
teenage years - a father who left them and did not stay in touch. The
words were inspiring but I felt that you would have done a better
justice is some of the pictures or at least an even amount were with
women as the parent. I was disappointed."
[Webmaster's note: I'm
sorry but we just do not have the luxury of time and resources to make
this slideshow fit each and everyone's situation."
"I was deeply moved
and shed many tears as I have gone through all of this with my
parents, grandparents, in-laws and now find out I have problems
myself. It was nice to shed a tear in my privacy of your wonderful
message and music. Thanks so very much for making my day!!!!!!! CD"
"Loved this so much."
"Absolutely
beautiful, and deeply touching. I wept and thanked the Lord throughout
it for my wonderful mom and dad who are now nearly 80. Thank you for
reminding us all to appreciate the gifts our parents are to us at
every age."
"This is the most
beautiful and moment of truth and show I have seen in a long time. It
brought tears to my eyes and very many thoughts to me. I remember my
parents taking care of my dearly beloved grandparents for many many
years and in time of need and today I really hope that I can bring my
parents who's the most caring, understanding and loving parents that
anybody can ever asked for. I appreciate you taking your time
and creating this for my memory's are now so high in emotion, I hope
everybody gets this and remembers and feel that way I do at this time
and forever. I really hope that everyone worldwide reads this and
takes everyone words and treasures this so they remember this for
their own grandparent, parents, children and friends. Thank you from
our hearts for sharing this moments and everlasting thoughts. Dara
Pfeifer O'Connor, Windsor, Ontario"
"I am 36 years old,
listening and reading Parents' Wish brought tears to my eyes. It made
me realize all the things that my Mother and ex-in laws, have done for
me and their grandchildren. It really touch my heart. Keep up the good
work. You never know how you are going to change or touch a life. May
God bless you. Thank you. Maria Rodriguez"
"My son who is in the
military sent me this. My mom had a major stroke 3 weeks ago and is
not expected to make it. It has helped me accept the fact that if she
has no more fight in her that we have to accept it. Thank you so much
for this as it is helping me in the healing process and to understand
how she is feeling."
"This was beautifully
done, I was moved as a parent and as a child."

"All persons should
read this. The best bit is religion is not involved and the teaching
is wholesome. Would be nice if I could also download it as a file to
keep in my library in case the site is moved or removed so that I can
pass it onto my kids when they are old enough to understand, and for
them to pass it down to the next generation."
"This was so
beautiful, put in words that I had a hard time saying to my daughters.
Though I'm only 59, by God's love I am still her. Twice this summer
the doctors told my family I wouldn't make it, but I proved them
wrong. With this I had to tell my children that I have C.O.P.S end
stage. They know my wishes, this reinforces them, but sharing my love
with them. Thank You so very, very much. Josh Groban's song and voice
express so much love. Doras T"
"Thank you for that
beautiful music and video. You are blessed."
"Thank you for this.
Every time I see it, I cry. My parents are dead, for me its to late.
Thank you. Sabine"
"This is very nice.
You have a wonderful heart of love for your parents. It would be nice
to have one that would talk to the child that after given all the love
and attention 'cuts' the mom out of his life because he
listened to the wrong influences. Even though he was raised in the
Word of God, taught and given all the good things, the devil has away
of influencing the child or children and the mom has to keep praying
and asking for other to help her intercede day and night to save her
only child or her children. It wouldn't matter if there is one or more
children, each child is special and no one of the others can take the
place of that one."
"This is the most
touching e-mail I have ever received. The message is one that I have
so often tried to put into words. I have sent it to everyone I know
and have gotten loving replies. I can think of no better musical
accompaniment for such a poignant tribute than 'You Raise Me Up'
sang by Josh Groban. Thank you."

"What a powerful and
poignant message!"
"I brought this song
for my father to hear - he had suffered a stroke and was left 50%
paralyzed and couldn't speak. Everyone gave up on him. One nurse and I
believed he could understand. With constant reading to him, talking
about old times, and family pictures, Dad began to say phrases. He
used his hand and face to communicate. He and I had beautiful visits.
He just passed away two and a half months ago. I am so happy that we
sat side by side and listened to the words. He would always smile and
touch my hand and squeeze it afterwards. Don't give up on our older
loved ones. Even the doctors said he was worthless. We proved them
wrong. His mind and heart filled with love were fine."
"Thanks, very
touching."
"You did a wonderful
job with this. I am in the Replication business and see so many
presentation, it is really nice to see one that is particularly
'touching'. Thank you for what you Did. I walk away with tears in
my eyes....Jane S."
"This did bring tears
to my eyes as my feet don't work so good and have great pain. Have
sent to my children to read. God Bless You Katherine"
